oh yay, triggered mods at it again. his quote reads that way and his lack of explanation of such a mundane sentence coupled with his identity suggests that flawed notion of "race doesn't matter anymore, we shouldn't care about it." until he responds with clarification, I will continue to think I called that statement for what it was.

Ask then? Not just criticise. It's simple.

Nobody should care about race..

clarify this statement please. do you mean "ideally nobody should care about race" or do you mean "in today's society, given everything that has happened historically, nobody should care about race?" those are two very different ideas.

Thoughtful response.

and telling coming from a white twink such as yourself... :bye:

Lmao, my response wouldn't have been received equally if I was black ? What even the fact that you think I'm a "twink" has something to do with this ?

You asked for my opinion, I gave it to you, don't insult me if it's not what you expected. All the more so as it doesn't mean it's not thoughtful if it's not a novel-sized argument.

Well considering you shot down the first post due to the poster's race (white) and a lot of people think that way (white people have no room to speak about race) then yes, I think Gaga says more than enough and no, I don't want racially motivated songs/themes on LG6 unless they're general "accept and love everyone" songs like BTW :vegas:

clarify what you mean then. you stated something so blatantly obvious but that also doesn't make any sense in the context of what's being discussed. it's not as easy as saying "nobody should care about race." well no duh... but do you actually think that after everything that has happened historically, that still nobody should care about race. or do you think that racial issues still exist and we have to care about race to correct them?

apologies for coming off abrasively, but when i hear people who look like you at all the places i go to frequently brush off this important topic and discussion with a statement like that, it comes as no shocker. and yes, i have yet to hear a black twink say something like that... jus sayinn

My short answer (short because I'm not in the mood to write a long comment) is, that you shouldn't necessarily talk about every issue out there, literally no artist does that. But it would be nice if she talked about it a bit more.

in what way do white people have no room to speak about race? they have every NECESSITY to do so because they are the ones who instituted a racist structure. You're subtly advocating for putting the work of undoing racism on those who are oppressed by it. it should be the moral obligation for all white people to talk about it and continue fighting against it - cue MLK.

Thank you for calming down... of course I was speaking ideally. I mean if a "black twink" as you said and really just everybody started to give less importance to race it surely would diminish the way we let it affect things. Yes that's ideal but if people worked on it together instead of coming for something who's white simply replying in a topic about racism it would help.
