Take your anger out on someone else, do not sit there & imply that I’m stupid just because I don’t want to ignorantly conform to you & everyone else intentionally looking for something to be upset at because you don’t know how to empathize & understand a situation & realize the context accurately enough to come to a sensible conclusion. This is why people who have these thoughts don’t openly talk about them & racism continues to go on because people like you are so eager to attack them & call anyone else who won’t agree to be enraged racist. But yeah, I need to “twitch a brain cell” because clearly I’m the one with the chip on my shoulder looking for any situation to use my mob mentality in 👍🏻 Congratulations Are you seriously telling me that I don’t understand the context of this situation? You’re the one who cherry picked ONE part of this whole thing (that he asked for his skin color) and tried twisting it so that you could say he wasn’t acting racist. You’re acting as if we owe this man an apology for taking offense in what he did. Contrary to what you believe (that he didn’t commit a crime, therefore he didn’t do anything wrong) he did do something sick. Walking around looking for a black man to kill is not harmless behavior. It’s something white men have been doing for decades because a black person’s life has historically been seen as insignificant to white men for centuries. And if I come off as if I’m insulting you then good. I don’t like people like you because this “going against the mob mentality” shtick isn’t new. In fact your way of thinking is part of the reason atrocities to people of color in the past occurred so often. When people sit and decide that shameful behavior like this can be dismissed simply because the person seems remorseful it sends a very clear message that they’re okay with these actions. Nice try on trying to flip it on me like I’m the one keeping racism alive. Let me tell you something. Racism is not and will never be a comfortable subject. It’s not my job to make situations like this as comfortable as possible so people like you can feel incentivized to think about racism in peace. ctherainbow 3,162
1. Why would you bring it up this way, when you know you’re a public figure and need to be careful about what you say and how you say it? 2. It’s good that he realizes that his reaction was dead wrong and a horrible thing to do. I hope he teaches people he’s mentoring to recognize and avoid toxic reactions to trauma. 3. If any of you have kids, especially boys, please please teach them to conflict resolve without violence. Because this kind of “physically lash out when under stress” response, combined with other factors, is a huge and very damaging element of toxic masculinity. 4. He’s 66 years old, so I’m not surprised that he would have this kind of racist reaction when he was younger. I hope he’s genuinely changed and is committed to being a better human now.
