As amazing as he sounds on it, I kinda prefer it just being Gaga, the final production just suits her voice in my opinion. No shade to FJM, he sounds amazing, I just have such a sweet spot for the final version of the song I wouldn’t want to change it.

It would be one of my favourite gaga songs ever. I went to see him once after I heard gaga talk about him. I liked his music and tickets were not expensive. One of the best concerts ever. His voice is so good so a duet would sound like heaven.

I don't know, I have mixed feelings about that whole Gaga hiring songwriters idea. It feels opposite to her "I write my own songs" philosophy that she always brags about. After ARTPOP I thought that would be over but it seems to just continue and I don't understand why tbh.

I see it as her saying she writes all of the songs where she is credited, or rather, she has a big part in it and is active in the process. Semantically it sounds off, but I think this is what she means.

 

In this case, my thought was that she wanted a FJM song to sing. She didn’t want to just write a song, she wanted a song of his. So they got together, shot the s*** as Tillman says they did, and they talked about what she wanted from a song. Then from there he wrote something. An honest collaboration but still his song. She said she thought he was “such a poet”, so this would make sense to me. It wasn’t just like, “oh you got some songs lying  around?” It seems more to be that they talked about the direction and vibe. The demos are recorded because he wrote them and recorded them so that then Gaga and Mark could pick the one they wanted.
