If that was was a non-white kid, it wouldn't ignite the controversy in the first place (and rightfully so). The media only wanted to destroy this kid because he was white + male + MAGA, but that backfired. 

I don't care if he's rich or white. People are willing to kill him for nothing (don't act like you haven't seen the links I posted). That's unacceptable.

Such a necessity was implied by Whispering in the first place with that off-topic and flamebatey comment. And, yes, there are actually two sides - innocents kids and black Muslims who were harassing them without any provocation. Seems like 98% of this forum is not siding the kids

It wasn’t off topic. You were defending them.

No one is agreeing or “siding” with the Black Israelites group. 

They are not black Muslims. The group focuses on adapting a combination of Jewish and Christian teachings.

Yes, my bad, thought that they were from the Nation of Islam. Anyway, it seems like this is still a blatantly racist group that calls white Jews 'imposters' and hates everything white. 

Anyway, my ignorant comment doesn't make your point any more valid. If you blame these innocent kids, you are certainly siding with those who abused them just because of their skin colour and hats for absolutely no reason. They are free to wear and say anything they want without fear of being arrested. That’s freedom of speech. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from public opinion or consequences. 

 

I've watched multiple videos from multiple perspectives, and nothing changes. To add to that, there are so many unanswered questions and so many discrepancies:

Where were the chaperones in all this? Why weren't they trying to defuse the situation?

Why were they waiting for their bus in the middle of a protest zone? Again, what's up with the chaperones here?

In the dude's PR statement, he acted like he and his classmates were just SO scared and SO confused about what was going on that they didn't know what to do. Not a single video I've seen depicts scared and confused students. They're yelling and grinning and jumping up and down and mocking those around them.

In one video, you can clearly see one of the students removing his regular hat and putting on a MAGA hat while he and his classmates mock Elder Phillips.

This school has a history of inappropriate behavior as mentioned by other people in this thread.

The reason I refer to the guy's statement as a PR statement is because it totally sounds like it was written by a PR firm. And I have done PR work before, and believe me, it sounds incredibly formulaic to a lot of PR writing.

This whole narrative about scared wealthy white students being intimidated by brown people is stupid and offensive, and I'm tired of it.
