Siena 6,235 Posted May 13, 2019 Share Posted May 13, 2019 I don't remember who but someone on twitter basically summed up perfectly what has been wrong with the past 2 seasons, and I couldn't agree more. S1-6 wasn't just about the characters moving towards their endgame. While obviously everything they did brought them closer to the end of their character arc, their motivations were lead by the writers having them react and make decisions in ways that were true to their characters, had they actually been real people. After s6, when D&D realized they had to start wrapping everything up in only 2 seasons, they had to figure out how the show was going to end and what each character's endgame was. Once they figured this out they began to work backwards by moving the characters around and manipulating them in a way where they would reach that ending in only 13 episodes. Essentially they stopped letting the character's story arc slowly lead up to their ending, and instead forced all these characters to be in certain places at the right time and witness specific things to lead up to their end. Obviously the show had to reach a conclusion at some point, but if they had more episodes this character manipulation would've seen much more natural, and we wouldn't have things like Dany going crazy in 1.5 episodes or Varys turning on her before she even did anything wrong. also I miss this Dany Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

In her heart and in her mind. It makes me sad to see her lose control. I still love Daenerys’ character, don’t give a f*ck. Ya'll gonna be even more butt hurt when it happens in the book.
