Enigma 7,182
ARTPOP is the album that changed my life. Greek mythology, astrology and space related stuff have always been in my vein so it feels like the album was designed for me. Aura is my fav song ever. It's Telephone's freaking part 2 ! I feel like people forget about this because it didn't have a MV. It was supposed to be the lead single too ! Ugh I wish it was, the ARTPOP era is iconic as **** but if it had went as planned no one would have ever recovered The Enigma line is so freaking meaningful to me, it's basically my mantra. It makes me realize how small and meaningless we all are, and how wearing a piece of fabric means nothing if that's the piece of fabric you want to wear. Basically, to let your artistic instincs drive you. On the same note I adore how much of a cluster**** the whole era is. For instance the album cover is so iconic because it's basically a mess filled with high art references and symbolism. She's sitting with her legs spread with a metallic blue ball coming from her vajoina with a ton of paintings and distorted hot pink writing behind her, all that while randomly holding her boobs As she said countless times, ''My ARTPOP could mean anything''. Maybe the wack stuff she has done during the era has meaning, but some may not. Maybe she was just feeling like being naked with a christmas ball in her legs that day and I find that so inspiring Also the amount of LOOKS she served during this era is astounding Stuff like this is walking art Venus is freaking amazing, those unreleased cover arts for it are gifts from Heaven and the actual one with the scorpion and the color shifts is so stunning The artRAVE is spectacular. Those epilepsy interludes, those custom confettis, the bubble and plushies guns... The stage reminding of the Greek God's sanctuary The outfits were AMAZING (the Gypsy one, the one with the ARTPOP ball and wings, the Venus one, and the Gypsy one in particular). The catwalks made that everyone had a good place. I so wish I could have attended. Also the G.U.Y. film is a masterpiece. The intro to the song where she's leaning against that plants wall is ICONIC. Also her white hair was the prettiest she ever looked The scene with money guns slayed my 11 or something gay ass so much when I first watched it. And the random /gamemode ARTPOP scene with Jesus and MJ being brought back in Minecraft is the type of random stuff I love Every song on this album is good. There's not one that I skip, besides Dope because it breaks the mood of the album a bit. Yes, I do like J&D. It's dumb and fun, not everything has to be Grammy-worthy, little ASIBsters By the way everyone knows about the intro to Donatella and yes this song is iconic The applause MV (and that makeup) is high art The random stuff she did like her collab with Marina Abramović, Jeff Koons or that Swine performance where she gets puked on are fascinating OK SORRY I TOTALLY SNAPPED WITH THIS NOVEL but ARTPOP is so important to me and I know that in her head it was so much bigger. I hate the world and her messy management for letting it die. But in my heart it's still alive and well

Ziggy 11,840
Dope is the best song Era was a Mess, but not fully her fault and we won't ever know what was her fault vs not because legal stuff Some of her best street looks and that's a fact most ambitious era I love the adrenaline concept and the "celebration of obsessions"; it puts the music in a totally new context I am forever pressed I didn't see the tour Best album art, hands down. I love that beautiful mess Venus deserved a video just based on the art we got teased for it

I look at it and feel like I own a piece of her tour. I’m sorry you couldn’t attend the show, stepping into that room felt like entering a new planet. I’m glad to see people out there like me who love ARTPOP so much! See The Best In Everyone
AVeryGagaHolyDick 25,467
Very unpopular opinion, but if Gaga wanted total success (this is not about how interesting it is to us or if it's representative of the album), the singles should have been: 1/ Do What U Want ft. R. Kelly - the controversy would have been there but the song would have destroyed Roar 2/ Dope - y'all will come for me, but piano/voice songs were the very new trend back then, it would have been #1 easily (it went #8 with ONE performance on a very small show, with no video and no radio release) and it would have saved the era thanks to the "authentic" side of Gaga (see: Shallow) 3/ Gypsy - Everybody loved it, no need to say why it needed to be a single instead of G.U.Y. (eventually 4/ Applause, but only if Gypsy got to be big) Also, the only way for Gaga to truly succeed was to release an album à la ASIB OST

Love the album but the over hype was too much ("album of the millennium", video for every song, new songs on app, Gaga in space, Volantis ) Gaga in space wasn't supposed to happen during ARTPOP
Didymus 34,379
The witch performance at that London gay club >>> And I actually adored her Venus performance at Graham Norton. Super messy and childish but somehow it had endless charm My absolute favorite thing of the era was this project though: Stunning. One of the underrated highlights of her career. Lady Rah Rah 2,000
ARTPOP has always been my favourite era. So much stuff happened to me during that time and it was then that I felt I connected to Gaga the most. Not saying I don't now because I do, but it was truly unique and beautiful Chromatica will live on forever.

automatic 1,001
Its easily my favorite album of all time lol and it deserved a lot more than what it got. As an artist, I usually go to the album to hopefully get some inspiration to create something.

FfFfFfFF 55,892
Favorite Songs: Venus, GUY, ARTPOP, Do What U Want Least Favorite Songs: Fashion!, Manicure, Gypsy Scope: the combination of pop and art but at the same time a big theatrical performance that could mean anything. Cover art: the modern image of the pop star as a modern adaptation Greek/ Roman deities
Madame Goo Goo 3,865
ARTPOP might have been an ARTFLOP but it was an ARTBOP and that's what matters Lady Gaga doesn't owe us anything
LibraOctober98 3,495
I love every track on ARTPOP. I know Gaga wasn't feeling great during that era and may have been confused/in pain/feeling pressured, and that for me deduced my love of the era. But the songs are all bops. 15 consecutive bops.
