The detachment of radio and digital sales is almost disgusting.

They should be playing what people wanna hear, not what they feel like playing.

Sales aren't the only way of gauging what people want to hear though. There are a lot of people who will call in to hear a song but will never buy it.

Not to mention that while "GYHAB" was never top 20 in sales, it had a lot of longevity.

Just a little correction, but it did get in the top 20. I remember her reaching around 15.

GYHAB peaked at #16 for any of you who are wondering and is Platinum in the US (Her second solo-single to do so after Skyscraper, it peaked and debuted at #10) and her album (judging from the latest released numbers) sold 366,000 copies in the US. It's her lowest-selling album in the US.

Don't Forget (2008): Peak: #2. Sales: 513,000.

Here We Go Again (2009): Peak: #1. Sales: 471,000.

Unbroken (2011): Peak: #4. Sales: 366,000.

Am I the only one surprised at the fact that even DEMI LOVATO has a #1 album and Rihanna has yet to score one?!

Unbroken sucks tbh

True, but it's much better than "Give Your Heart a Break".

Yes it peaked at #16 on the Hot 100 but I'm talking about sales.

Also it doesn't surprise me at all re:#1 album. Demi scored a #1 album in the summer which is typically one of the worst times for album sales, and at the peak of her popularity. Rihanna's lack of a #1 album has to do with timing. She usually has good first week sales but she always releases on Black Friday. If she were to put out an album anytime before October it would probably go #1.

Lol her highest first week sales are 207k with Loud, on the run up to Christmas, that's atrocious for someone with Rihanna's popularity lol

That was the "overall" for the entire week. but it did get to the top 15. I'm 100% sure about that. Like how MTN got to #14, but Billboard gets an overall number for the whole week.

OK, gotcha.

That's arguable but what isn't is that those are good enough figures to get a #1 album anytime other than Q4.

Yeah but would she get those sales if she didn't release her albums in Q4?

Americano

Rihanna's album sales in the US have always been pretty weak. The only country she has traction w/ that is the UK

In the end, let Rihanna dominate the UK market. Her recent era hasn't done any better than BTW in the UK, minus WFL.
