Arturo 40,746
Is it just me but is all her whining about boys just a bit over done by now? It's not just you :coffee:
Klou 2,414
The money making formula: Be a 20 something female pop artist and write songs like you're 15. It's worked for Taylor, Ke$ha, Katy, & Carly.

craig 680
At least Katy and Carly had a chance to grow into their early 20s before becoming pop stars. If Taylor writes from experience, she just has her teens and her celebrity. As a guy, ST's lyrics turn me off in a way the other two don't.
boysboysboys 278
Her last album didn't do as well as the previous, the country-is-the-new-black trend is dying out in the US, and she's never been popular overseas. Now all of a sudden her new single is Top 10 in the UK. What happens when you sell out, then try to go back home? Just ask Nelly Furtado or Norah Jones. Tino knows his music :) Anyways, let's let the single have it's day. I predict at most 3 weeks #1, and just one week at the very least.
Ozzy8923 9
Actually, I agree with Valentino. Taylor if you are going to make POP Music now, don't you dare ever touch country ever again because that will be the end of you. Same thing happened to Ms. Minaj. Went on to make Pop Music and then, at the same time, tried to appeal to an Urban audience by making Hip-Hop songs and, as far as I know, she's lost most of her urban appeal and is viewed more as a POP Star and no longer a RAP/Hip-Hop artist. That's just the way it is. :ohwell:
comrade 33
A transition from country to pop or from pop to country is a lot smoother and easier than from pop to rap, though. You don't have to have that extra "street cred" and attitude. Pop/country crossovers aren't anything new to the scene.
craig 680
Shania and Dolly managed to crossover and not lose cred with most of the country audience. The question is, can Taylor make GOOD pop music that still appeal to her country peeps?
comrade 33
Pretty sure her new single appeals to her older, more country-orientated fans.

SomethingMore 1,701
I still can't believe it - Born This Way (album) sold just 135,000 copies this year in the USA, while in the UK it sold 100,500 copies. 315,000,000 people lives in the USA (and its Gaga's homeland), and 60,000,000 people lives in the UK. BTW is such a flop in the USA.

SomethingMore 1,701
Lol, why are you making these conclusions? Umm, those are not conclusions. Those are the official numbers.
boysboysboys 278
Umm, those are not conclusions. Those are the official numbers. I meant you can't conclude it's such a flop in the USA this year. No, even from that data.
SomethingMore 1,701
I meant you can't conclude it's such a flop in the USA this year. No, even from that data. Of course its a huge flop this year. And I must say its a flop in general, both 2011 & 2012. Its sold so much just cause of that first week when of course people didn't know what to expect, and BTW single was a great lead in single, so thats why the album sold 1,100,000 in its first week. I mean we both love Gaga but why are you defending BTW's sales when its obvious its a flop in the USA. In 1 week = 1,100,000 copies In 1 year, 3 months = 2,200,000 copies 2,200,000 - 1,100,000 = 1,100,000 copies. So she sold the same amount of copies in 1 week and in 1 year and 3 months (excluding the first week) and that is not flop for you??
