Gaga Blackout

Have any of you ever done a "Gaga blackout" i.e. avoiding her music, music videos, performances, etc until a new era starts?

I tried it from Cheek to Cheek until Joanne and purposely avoided listening to her music, videos, performances, interviews, etc and it was the worst and really hard especially being on here on GGD.  

But when I was finally able to listen to her music again (after Perfect Illusion was announced  ) I was re-shook and slayed by this woman.

Even C2C songs sounded like BOPS. 

I ain't trying it this time because LG6 seems so far away and we're getting ASIB in a little over a month to hold me over. 

Anyone else as crazy as me?

I have done this. After ARTPOP and before Joanne. I quit listening to music (almost entirely) for about 2 years. I used to be on ATRL all the time and it consumed my life (locked out of the account too and I hate that lol). I took 2 years away from it all and next thing I know musics all about the chainsmokers and rap. Then Joanne came and I’ve slowly came back! And I keep finding myself playing Gaga more and more especially at times when I need a “pep talk” I can’t get anywhere else.

there was a period in my life where this obsessed crazy gaga fan wanted to date me but i rejected him and he started to harrass me and my friends and it really turned me off gaga because she just reminded me too much of him and his crazy ways until the BTWB where the show totally raised me back up to superstan again

that's the only time i intentionally stopped following her religiously, i unintentionally stopped paying attention from artRave until AHS Hotel because i was so busy with college and getting into university so AHS helped remind me she exists and probably has an album or something coming soonish

Yes, after Born This Way I lowkey forgot about her until the ARTPOP announcement in July. I’m glad I did though, that sounds like a period of fans suffering (kind of like how we are right now )

There was a moment in my life where I didn't really listen to her music, and that was mainly during the C2C era. I was younger at the time and I didn't really understand jazz or how people could like that type of music, so I didn't really care for it. 

Being a little bit older, I've learned to appreciate the era and jazz a whole lot more, and even though it may not be my "go-to" in terms of music genres, I now respect it and love it a lot more than I did previously.

Yes! Born this way was just not my cup of tea. After the fame monster I expected something different from her. But when I found out that I was gay in 2012 I was fan again and was hyping her more than before. 2012-Gaga was a mess and I was here for it!

Honestly when I started college I was cut off from a lot of pop culture-- I was pretty wrapped up in the new experiences and being away from home and trying to make new friends that I honestly didn't pay any attention to anything relevant. That was 2013, and the last major thing that happened that I paid attention to was Miley Cyrus at the 2013 VMAs. But it wasn't just Gaga, it was a lot of music, TV, and viral videos. So I missed a lot of the ARTPOP era, Cheek to Cheek, (I watched some AHS Hotel). But since then I've done a lot of ARTPOP era binge watching/listening/researching!
