Why ARTPOP was a "flop"

I would just like to start this by saying ARTPOP DID NOT FLOP. 2.5 Million copies have been sold..though it might not have met the same hype as its predecessor I hardly consider that a flop. But I see people saying that ARTPOP didn't do well because it was ahead of it's time but that's not true. ARTPOP was actually behind the times using a heavy EDM style that had died out in the past year. None of the music really was anything we haven't seen or heard before it was the concept that was unique. However when the era went to **** and half of the concept was scrapped we were left with a hollow example of what could have been. There was little promo to get the GP interested and after the album was released there was little done to keep the hype going. Plans were changed last minute and poor decisions were made. This is only half Gaga's fault considering she couldn't control her managing dropping her mid era. Don't get me wrong I love ARTPOP and it still remains my favorite Gaga album, but it is not revolutionary, it wasn't really new at the time, and a lot of the songs were obviously rushed to be finished. That's just my opinion.:huntyga: Drag me below ladies.

She spent all her money on that flying dress.

Of course she had no money left for promo.

as time goes by, i realize more and more it wasn't a flop (even when i've labeled it that in my head before)

Like a Top 5 hit and a #13 hit. That's pretty good :tony:. Perhaps brought her down from a top pop girl to a regular pop girl, success wise...but hey! No flopping here :vegas:

ARTPOP already did its best with 2.5 million but if there was a good promo it even would be 250 million instead of 2.5 million :ohwell:

Not this again. There's no denying it did not meet expectations reception wise and sales wise. But it's normal. All artists have peaks and their success goes up and down. ARTPOP can be considered Gaga's lowest point in her career imo.

Girls just let it go...

It wasn’t even a proper flop anyway, just an underperformance for someone who at the time was the dominant pop figure.

I see what you mean about it being a little behind, but like you said I still worship it. Maybe not completely revolutionary, but still amazing sonically and visually.

If ARTPOP is to be considered the "flop" of Gaga's career, I'd say not too shabby...

There are many factors.

Most of people wanna blame it on the music, but that is not the only reason.

GP was kinda getting tired of Gaga, her peak was over, and it is this normal circle in showbizz when there is always one celeb who is hated at a certain moment (f.e. katy perry 2017). The music wasn't great, her behavior was pretentious and kinda embarassing too and ofc promotion was a mess.com; managment shiz...
