Why does she wanna work with the same people though. Sis make it with the people you do wanna work with. A sequel isn’t a copy paste, the project can have a diff tone/vibe…it’s not adding up.

Confused how you got “she wants to work with the same people” out of “making this would mean working with people she doesn’t want to”, unless I’m missing some context here 😭 it sounds to me like this is Dr. Luke/old label shade and that it legally wouldn’t be possible to drop a Vol. 3 with that title because they own that title. She can absolutely do a horror album, and she in fact says she wants to, it just can’t be titled “TOTL Vol 3”, that’s all this appears to be saying.

Because of publishing rights, he probably owns part of the rights  to the title/concept. So she’d have to contractually work with him to do it or she’d have to oh him a portion of the publishing.

That’s why Gaga couldn’t just release the solo version of DWUW after the fact, because of publishing rights R Kelly gets a portion of EVERY version of the song sold, streamed, even the Xtina version. (Although now the money goes to his victims—but culturally it wouldn’t work.)

I saw from her fans threads that to be independent she basically lost every music she made before Detour don't know if that's true but damn 💀

Yea and no, basically she still makes money off of the music if it’s used in any capacity like if it was used in an advert for something online BUT she doesn’t own the masters so in order for her to perform them live she needs permission to perform them.

Because her label owns the masters, it was a condition of her contract that in order to perform the songs she has to work with/give money to Dr Luke. That’s why she can’t perform anything from Slutpop or Miami or TOTL1 or 2. Because Luke would have to be involved.

She performed Heart to Break because she owns the master to that song. 

So Yes she still makes money off them, but No she can’t perform them live or release works associated with them without the label’s involvement BECAUSE of the Masters situation. She owns all the masters to Detour but because she’s independent she now has to pay for EVERYTHING. Every performance, production session, every pressed vinyl or CD the works.

Unless she buys her masters back I doubt it. But sis just used all her earnings to buy herself out of her contract so.
