That's funny because I watched it again just yesterday.

It made me even sadder than it did the first time. Her breakup, her illness, the album leaking, not to mention her best friend was dying... She's a strong woman but I wish life would give her a break :(

i wanted more behind the scenes of gaga regulating. my favorite scene from the whole thing is when she describes part of her creative process in terms of the performance like, "i need the inside of the jacket changed like now bc the speed at which my arm moves into the sleeve changes timing for when i'm setting up this note" w/e she said i thought gave some very interesting insight.

same, i thought that was so awesome cus it really highlighted how much detail she puts into her performances

It just somehow lacked focus for me. But still it’s one of the best pop star documentary. In a sense that it shows you that behind the scenes it’s not that glamorous.

my favorite scene’s gotta be the whole montage showing her different red carpet/stepping out of the car moments. It’s overwhelming and sad at the same time. Because nobody knows what’s going on behind the scene.

It felt real but I didn't enjoy it. Not because it was bad (because I don't think it was), but from following Gaga so closely on GGD, I felt like I was just watching something I had already seen (Walmart for example). The movie should have added more live music scenes. I don't know what they were thinking leaving performances out. I wish there was more behind the scenes at the Superbowl and I honestly wish there were interviews. It was a close look but I didn't feel it was close enough.

since i've been a gaga stan since 2010 and loving her as a person just as much as her music I couldn't conceive a way even before watching it that I wouldn't like it.

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

Not really, no. It seemed like they chose random footage and just threw it together.

I would’ve preferred the standard documentary style more.

What I took from it is she worked hard on her performance only to be told while she was performing it that it wasn't good enough and she needed to change the dialect. It seemed a bit like she took it personally which I assume is because she worked so hard on it only to be criticised by the director on the day of filming. I think she would have liked some input beforehand because she felt like she wasn't taken seriously as an actor hence the comment she made about how busy she is. I think she said that to show AHS isn't her one main focus.

No, I loved every second. The only thing I disliked is this promo pic.. why did her team let this happen

I just feel like we've had more real moments in Gagavision episodes than we did in 5 foot 2. The only real moment to me seemed to be the part where she's feeling pain and she asks if she looks pathetic. Because that is a genuine thought what someone would ask when in a vulnerable position like that. The rest just seemed like she was ready to act out a rehearsed scene to show she's in pain and the camera was set up to roll once she's ready. I feel bad that I have this distrust about Gaga and the whole filming process but the majority of it just gave off a vibe of being contrived. I also think it's because I've picked up her mannerisms and nuances and alot of it came across like they weren't natural.

As the op, I think what I didn't like was that it was too real. I loved how Gaga was an enigma in the beginning of her career and used to say things like nobody wants to see her putting the trash out in her slippers.

I know it goes against what I said about it being contrived but it just felt like the real moments were staged at times. Like we're watching the Kardashians show if that makes sense where all the real moments are scripted.

I adore Gaga no matter what but I think I belong to the fan group who want to see the magic of the fame where she's the larger than life superstar and not the person who's been chewed up and spat out by the fame monster.

Which parts in particular did you think were staged?

probably stress + unclear instructions + miscommunication on expectations + outside things amping up anxiety/lack of patience

afterwards she does admit that it was a meltdown and that she wasn't reacting rationally, but yanno, what can you do.

I liked it a lot, but my qualms with it are just that its sad and doesn't feature much of the goof we know. Which may imply that the goof we know is not actually that much of a goof, or that at that point in time she was just too beat to act that way.
