Edonis 28,974
It's very easy for Americans and Europeans to be in support of violent intervention in times like these and it's sad. You don't live in the region, you've never lived in the region, and you've never experienced the ramifications of violent intervention in the region and surrounding areas. End of. I don't a single person in the region (Christian, Muslim, or Jewish) that would be in support of escalating matters and harming more innocent lives unless they have their own political agendas and interests in mind first. Unfortunately, the damage was done in Syria almost a decade ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if an even bigger international crisis comes out of it. It's incredibly sad because this only strains middle eastern relations and makes the entire region even more unstable. I've said this before and I'll say it again, US violent intervention has rarely led to good in historical context, and this will most certainly be another example of that. Non-violent intervention is key but apparently too many people are more interested in flexing their war muscles and keeping egos in place than to actually try to bring peace to the region. I sympathize with @hunty and every other person who lives in the area and has to put up with that stuff. I'm genuinely scared for my relatives in Lebanon as I can guarantee this will spill over borders and strengthen the conflict. I just, I'm so tired. I really am.
