Arturo 40,746
P!nk has no excuses. She has a lead single. True. It should have been a Top 5 hit.WW sales: @Coldplay, Mylo Xyloto 28,000 (5,070,000 total) [42 weeks].
Ozzy8923 9
Wow. Coldplay's album sold really well. I hope ARTPOP sell's that much and more. Honestly, I think selling 6 million copies WW is really impressive judging by the state of album sales right now. Most albums released this year have barely passed the million mark. I expect this year's highest seller to be 21 (Obviously) but the second best-selling album of the year will sell about 4-5 million copies. It makes me appreaciate BTW's sales. Good news for her now, but in the long run, when you first single is the best and most popular, you'll have a problem achieving stardom and gaining celebrity. She hasn't topped ...Baby One More Time (9 million WW), even after the emergence of the digital era, her second best selling single WW (Womanizer, 6.5-7 million WW) still is 2 million away from reaching the same sales as ...Baby One More Time. Please look through it, it took me a long ass time to type because my computer wouldn't let me copy or paste anything (I have no clue why). As you can see, these numbers are from June 19, 2012 so some of these albums have declined in position. I'm happy to see that BTW sold a solid and healthy 6.3 million copies WW along with One Direction (whose album crossed the 3 million mark by now) and Lana del Rey (Who has crossed the 2 million mark by now) and Adele (). craig 680
Seriously how the hell will she top that single. Good news for her now, but in the long run, when you first single is the best and most popular, you'll have a problem achieving stardom and gaining celebrity. It's actually quite common and healthy for major stars to have a huge career-opening single that "puts them on the map." Without that, buzz and talent fizzle out like Lana DL. Gaga first 2 singles are still her biggest sellers. Britney never topped BOMT. Kylie started with the biggest selling single of the 80s in Australia. Kesha and Katy really haven't topped their debut singles either.

Usually, before the 90's, an artists first singles weren't hits. Like Madonna's "Everybody" correct?
