Following that scenario.. Do you guys think Bad Romance would have had more chances to reach #1 as the 2nd single since Tik tok by kesha was too strong to beat? Or competion that year was too tough anyways?

And would Telephone have peaked higher as the lead? :oprah:

It would have been a hit because both artists were at the top interms of success but probably wouldn’t have been as big as Bad Romance because what made Bad Romance such an iconic and global hit is the fact that the song was a very weird yet infectiously likable product.

True. But having telephone as the lead would mean that Bad romance vs tik tok wouldn't have happened therefore more chances for br to reach the top? #1 on billboard

No.. I love the song and bey but telephone doesn't have enough strength to be a lead. Hell it barely had enough strength to be a single

Honestly GP is unpredictable.. Telephone could have very easily underperformed and BR hype could have been lost. There’s just too many variables to consider in a hit. If Gaga wanted consistent hits she did what she should have done and that’s serving BR right after Paparazzi.

well it would instead be Telephone vs Tik Tok lol and I doubt telephone would've overpowered Tik Tok if BR couldn't

Exactly my point. Then br would have the path to slay as the 2nd single and reach #1... What I'm saying is let's sacrifice telephone so that BR can shine without competition aka tik tok

I'd say no. Since Tik Tok look up all of January and February. Even if BR took a few weeks to climb, she would have to face off The Black Eye Peas and Rihanna.

BR wouldn't have been one of the most wacthed videos of the 2000s :selena:

Erasing Bad Romance as a single  probably would change things in such a big way that probably none of us can imagine lol I feel like it's the song that turned her into something more than a pop girl.

Telephone would have been a hit for sure tho

If Telephone was the lead single it would have changed the dynamics of Gaga’s career. Btw we would’ve had part 3 & 4.

Bad Romance was still the best lead tho.

Tbh I don't think it would have affected her career too much. Telephone would be a top 5 hit regardless (she was still riding off that Poker Face - Paparazzi moment), and if Bad Romance would have been released the second single it also would've gone top 2 and still become her signature song. The only difference is that it woul have higher chances to go #1. The TFM era was perfectly executed the way it was, so much, that switching up the places of the lead and the second single wouldn't have changed anything imo.
