It seemed lackluster in general.. including fashion (I get the stripped back approach) & I wasn't feeling the music at all. Not to say I didn't love the SB/Coachella/elements of JWT etc but I guess that is more due to nostalgia.

I didn't dislike the album itself, but I did miss the pure excitement that previous eras had in terms of marketing, performances etc.  There were a few amazing performances but not as many.

I just couldn't connect with it for some reason. It didn't feel personal to me (and I know that sounds crazy...but I would feel a deeper connection to her if she sang Marry The Night wearing 10 inch heels and a wig made out of bacon).

It almost felt like 'Joanne' was an alter ego. Like she absorbed the character of her aunt based on what she was told from her grandmother and father and lived it. I don't know, I can't explain it :selena:

Yeah the whole Joanne era's interviews and looks were so weird, like we all know the real stefani and THAT wasnt her (i mean since when she loved country that much lmao), that pink hat was just another role :/ i LOVED the first half of the album and the era was amazing compared to ARTPOP BUT it didnt feel sincere, idk why.

Its kinda sad that her only "struggle" was her aunt passing i mean she didnt even knew her...

And yeah she struggled with fame too, and that what i think the album was really about, her struggle with the perfect illusion of fame and her wanting to quit, but instead she said vague things on interviews..

It's not that I didn't like it, it's just that I didn't care :awkney: I gave a few songs a couple of listens and that would be pretty much it. I couldn't stress enough though that I do think it was a good move at this point in her career. I could go on and on about what made me like her in the first place but in short I liked the New York of it all, theatre, fearless ambition. What I'm looking forward to see is is there any of that left once LG6 is out.

I don't like it because it's not the type of music that I often listen to, and I cannot force myself to listen to it to pretend like I love it. I love Lady Gaga because of her eccentric, vivid, unique style, not this stripped-down country cowboy thing. So I'll wait for LG6, hopefully she will come back with pop, dance, electric groovy music and better videos.

I had a really hard time to get into the album. Especially since every album had surpassed the previous one for me (excluding C2C). I loved PI, but I immediately noticed from her promo that this era was gonna be very different. The era kept feeling kinda uneventful for me, but then the bigger gigs came and it made me fall in love with Joanne. ARTPOP is still my crazy lil baby though:kara:

Bacause I'm a profoundly superficial, tragic ******* who loves the bling, not the music.

No, but Joanne is quite far from what I am musically and too much americana for my exquisite taste.

I don't dislike it, its just a garment in my closet that isn't appropriate for many occasions in my life, so i don't get much wear out of it.

I liked the music and enjoyed the era and the few videos we got. PI is my all time Gaga fave.

The thing I didn't like is how other versions of the songs were better than album versions such as MR at the royal variety and Joanne piano version. I feel like if she'd taken more time to work on some tracks before releasing the album that they could have been better. Angel Down for example could have done with being a bit more fleshed out. I do appreciate that it's her vision as an artist and she will put out whatever she wants when she feels ready to, but it's just that as a listener some tracks didn't have the impact that they should have because they seemed to be lacking something. I feel much more emotionally from certain live performances of the tracks than I do from the album versions... and I don't like that she acts like Sinner's Prayer doesn't exist.

I'd just like to add that it seemed like she had a vision in the beginning like when she was doing the dive bar tour and when she performed A-yo on James Corden's show the outfit was fab and the VS show also. But she seemed to get bored half way through the era. Perhaps she made a big mistake by touring for this album because it would have suited being a mini era. She seemed to lose interest a long time ago. When she postponed the Europe shows back in October or whenever it was it felt like all the way back then she was ready for it to be done and I lost all enthusiasm, so when my show eventually got cancelled I wasn't particularly bothered.

I thought I liked it, but I realized it was just me wanting to like it. It was sort of the nail in the coffin for her progressively declining music

Theres no trace of what made me love Gaga in the first place, besides the vocal talent. She really did peak with The Fame Monster and it kills me to say that.

She could release another album that completely changes my mind, but I really don’t see that happening, especially if the LG6 album/era really is just the country inspired, reportedly disastrous, “A Star is Born” soundtrack.

There have been so many artists that have impressed me and entertained me far more than Gaga has in years.

I used to be a hardcore little monster, now I’m just uninterested.

Plus with this album, the tour, the music videos, The Cure, the interviews, etc. she’s become the absolute definition of gerneric, something I never thought I’d say about her.
