I 100% understand your point of view that Joanne is meant to be a palate cleanser. She has restored her public image but at the same time she trapped herself between two distinct identities and demographics. Most monsters want innovative pop tunes with visual extravaganza but she's also gained a new audience who prefers the stripped down/adult contemporary version of her. We all know damn well that the label is gonna be hell bent on her recreating MR 2.0 with the next album. It's gonna be very challenging to strike a balance. Hate to bring up Madonna again but ROL was a successful case in that situation. She rebuilt her reputation with those 90s ballads and Evita, and made the real comeback with a mature electronica album that pleases everyone. I have no doubt Gaga still has IT in her but sometimes she overthinks too much. I just fear that they will push her further as an AC artist like P!nk, which is something that I PERSONALLY don't want to see.

I definitely think Joanne was actually smart move, now she just can be back with a 'old self'. I mean just look at her style on her Instagram posts lately...

It's kind certain LG6 won't be a Joanne 2.0. Joanne was a kind of brutal change in her career but I don't think it means that much on how her next record will sound. DJWS being involved in producing some songs on it may give us an idea of it though.

I don't think it's fair to make this about fibro just to make who posted it look like a DIChead. Chronic pain can be hard, so you definitely have a point there, but it doesn't necessarily affect artistic choices and ideological coherence.

I’m just saying that when something negative happens to Gaga threads like this happen

You have a point, really, but let's not pretend some fans would still discuss about it in the day of light without the threads being so aggressive. Something bad happened and some used the dissatisfaction as a shitty excuse to express their ideas. I mean, it's just humanly convenient, I don't want to think they're purposefully using her being ill for the taste of drama. Both parties have a responsibility in this imo, that's all.

Madonna was never that creative, she just had an amazing team to put out interesting things for her. She's just a puppet just like Britney

Same could be said about Gaga.

Fans are so unfair. She hasn't lost a spark at all, virtually everyone who I know that doesn't like her still say that they can see she's a fantastic performer. She's fantastic, the JWT was amazing, Joanne was a thoughtful and well produced album with some amazing songs, Coachella and the SuperBowl were great. What else do fans want? Another TFM era by the sounds of it :/

In fact, as much as I loved the ARTPOP era, considering how much the world seemed against her, to say how much respect she's gained back since and has done some brilliant things, I think that proves that no spark has been lost

Because she no longer has the creative team she had in her best years. That's why it was too soon.

Sorry, but that's the only truth I can see. Even if you say she wanted to do something different, explore different genres and visuals, the result has been average. It's like she can't execute her ideas properly. More and more I'm sure the great Lady Gaga was built by an amazing creative team (which, of course, included her) and once that team was dismissed she simply couldn't sustain it.

Her transition into a more "human" pop star was not done successfully.

Why do you think everything about ARTPOP failed once Troy Carter left her team? Fans love to talk about how ARTPOP would have been the most amazing era if she had done everything she promised, specially technology wise. But explain to me, what stopped her? Her manager leaving? If ARTPOP was something she wanted to do, why didn't she after Troy left? She didn't have any lack of money and still had a creative team behind her, and a new manager. All the ARTPOP's promising ventures were probably Troy's idea and he took them once they parted ways.

The things she says, from dismissing the Lady Gaga persona to contradicting herself (specially when it comes to the "who's to blame" questions).

Everything about her has been predictable and safe. Seriously, for a pop star who has alwas been about "I don't give a ****", I don't remember the last time she actually didn't. It looks like she completely changed once she experience the slightest flop in her career. ARTPOP didn't do as good and immediately she hides herself, and starts planning her career in a whole different way. There are out there music artists a lot less resources, in every single way, who continue to produce the music they want to. I thought Gaga would be more like them. Instead, she behaves like a pop star who's simply aiming at a higher status. I mean, even Katy Perry has been more cohesive with her statements and has stick to her work more than Gaga...

Anyway, this is just ranting. I haven't been stan blinded for years and I mostly write these things because there are so many fans who still think Gaga is their best friend (when in reality she's just a pop star) and that's incredibly irritating.

I'm sick of the whole "next album will be the one". Everyone has been saying this since Born This Way (for me, her best work). I said to myself, Joanne would be the next album. And besides the music, not particularly great except three songs, she did a few uninspired videos, she interrupted an album era to shoot a movie (and now acting is her actual thing, music is just something that's on the way), she released her most generic and trendy song ever, she released a documentary about her personal life, which wasn't really as inspiring as I was expecting. I won't discuss the tour, even though I think she knew sooner she was going to cancel, it's a health issue and that will be understandable.

So yeah, I'm not forcing myself to stan for a woman who hasn't delivered. Gaga is just an entertainer people, life's not about her.

Thank you ❤️

Life is long, people. It's not like she died or something. It has only been about ten years ... She has still so much in her pockage.

I kind of agree. I don’t think she lost any kind of spark but we are all getting older lol. We can’t expect her to rule the charts and video views like in 2011. The great thing is (unlike some of her contemporaries) she is always going to be a major touring act selling out arenas no matter what. She could put out 20 albums that wouldn’t hit number 1 and still sell out MSG. Just like some Madonna fans felt when she was no longer the centre of the universe for the GP.

*** I do feel like she has more #1s coming though... my point is it doesn’t matter. At such a young age she has achieved legendary status and that’s forever.

Some of you still waiting the next "Bad romance" :toofunny: no one can keep herself in the term of success that Gaga was at 2010. Also as I said, general public was SO into pop music those days.  Gaga and the rest of pop singers of those years "resucitate" the Pop music culture, they gave again hype to music videos... C'mon, remember when Bad Romance, Alejandro... music videos where released: the TV showed them, the newspappers made news about it. This is not happening anymore. With any artist.

Look the others: Rihanna, Katy... they keep doing records and world tours like Gaga but any of them have that massive media focus.

Now it's time for latin music, Ed Sheeram and other kind of music to peak on charts... It's ok, popularity waves work like this.
