When did you realize Gaga deeply impacted your life?

Growing up, I had been obsessed with MANY artists and a whole bunch of their songs. After I discovered Gaga (literally 0.2 seconds before Just Dacne went #1), she quickly became my favorite artist of all-time.

As most of you on here, you probably own all of her records, know all of her songs, watched award show performances, etc. That's what most fans/stans do.

But when did your realize how deeply she impacted your life?

For me, it was right before I came out in 2014. I sat there and realized l began to accept myself for who I was because of her music, message, etc. I realized I saw what I wanted to be in her (I love to be theatrical, be different, etc). Every time I stayed up freaked out about my sexuality, pondering if I would go to hell, cry myself to sleep, I would just play her music and it helped calm me down.

I didn't think much of it when I was going through my identity crisis, but I realized in 2014 (and now) that alot of what I have achieved when it comes to accepting myself, coming out and being strong about it comes from her. Even now I listen to her music to help ease nerves in weird situations, before I go to bed, etc.

I just want to know other beautiful stories like my own (or any other artist) because when I hear them and retell mine, it just makes me incredibly emotional and happy tbh.

The moment my mother asked me:

Why the **** is this bitch covering your wardrobe? (I have a poster of her that covers my entire wardrobe)

Also, when my parents played Alejandro at a family gathering with all my homophobic relatives, and they were like : "This is the music that our son listens to!" Also, they played it on my TV that has a 3D option so it was very 3D with Gaga's puss puss slamming onto the bed with half-naked dancers!!!

Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

But yes, it got awkward and I made up an excuse to go to the bathroom because the room went silent all of a sudden

I don't think there was one defining moment. She just comes to mean more and more to me as the years go on.

I was given a keyboard in 2012 and tried to learn a few MJ songs (I loooooved playing Human Nature :diane:) but I saw that Gaga had announced ARTPOP. I wasn't the biggest fan of hers then but I figured why not  I looked up some of her piano ballads and started learning Hair (and now I can play it exactly like she does :diane:), TEOG, BTW, etc. I was pretty happy about it but for some reason those songs didn't click with me in a personal way like they do now.

Then Swinefest happened and she debuted my favorite song - Swine  I won't go into detail again ('cause I have quite a few times before) but I'm a survivor of sexual abuse both as a child and sexual assault as a young teen. And it's sh*tty too 'cause I could never tell anyone about being assaulted without outing myself 'cause my boyfriend is the one that did it. So I suffered in silence for a few years until Gaga delivered that speech and shared Swine with us. Suddenly it felt like she was helping me lug around all that baggage. It was healing to learn Swine, and eventually TIHTY, on the piano and to be able to sit in my room and play to myself

I was blessed with artRAVE tickets, opening night, and going to that show truly was the most freeing thing I've ever felt. The day after the show, even with the hangover, I felt so light and powerful. I was ready to take on the world. She had done it again :diane:

Then Joanne came around and I didn't realize how special it was to me until I went to the JWT on Dec. 1st. When she spoke about pain and how it changes people then sang Joanne I just :cryga: my friend put his arm around me and held my hand, Gaga sang to us, and I CRIED MY F*CKING EYES OUT :cryga::cryga::cryga:

And of course there's the Monsters :diane: I've met so many wonderful people here and on LM.com and it's become such a huge part of my life. Truly between Gaga being the human that she is, her music being as amazing as it is, and our Monster family being as diverse, loving, and creative as it is...I mean, I can't imagine my life without Gaga. I just can't. She truly is something special

Honestly the Pokerface vid made me realize I was gay. Gaga was sorta my first crush, middle school me was a mess  Plus she improved my art skills quite a bit, I would always draw her from her performances, music vids, and her red carpet looks.

ANYWAY I wasn’t very secure with my sexuality for multiple reasons. Kinda hated myself. But Born This Way led me to accepting and own it! I was proud of it.

Maybe it’s kinda cheesy but there ya go!

I am new fan actually so it took me a while to go through every thing she has done. I dont have a specific moment or some specific time she had an impact on me but overall shes a huge inspiration to me i remember i was watching  her jwt videos on youtube n came across this speech she gave when she brought her mom on stage before million reasons  (dont remember the show) she talked about  how she was rejected multiple times but never gave up it hit me hard coz i always get disheartened easily when rejected in interviews.:diane: other then this its hard to explain her impact :diane:

Every time I am putting on my shoes before got off to work, there always phantom whisper of Gaga telling me, "Don't be a drag, just be a Queen!" just the way she did it on the record, and it always boosted my spirit to the ceiling, (aside from my partner's kisses ofc), as I clenched my fist, and screaming "YAAASS! GAGA!" internally, and that is exactly what I did; being a fabulous person the whole day, trying to keep up with the long slog of paperworks, to keep putting up smile for everyone albeit all the work related stress and pressure. Doing the best I can, day after day. :sis:
