imnotyourbabe10 6,111 Posted January 29, 2018 Share Posted January 29, 2018 I blame not only the poor taste of the "academy" or whoever votes (as well as the General Public's "taste") but also the technology and on-demand/view culture that has shaped the industry. I truly do not mean to sound like I'm drunk on the hater-ade. Cannot help but think that the high-turnover rate of "hits" or artists contributes to the issue we are seeing tonight (that of many artists deserving to win-- like Gaga or Kesha--- but the popular one does, instead). [It's weird how these days people are somewhat "woke" about politics but have no sense of insightful culture when it comes to the arts such as music---or even consumption of said music, or even that of our economy etc etc].....okay....I'm logging off. All I've been giving for years is positivity. I'm not mad because Gaga got snubbed. I'm mad because Ed Sheeran is a fvcking arsehole and didn't deserve those Grammys. I'm mad because he boycotted the ceremony because he "wasn't nommed enough". I'm mad because the recording academy rewarded that behavior with 2 Grammys.
