GovHooker 20
No one There's no such thing (for me at least) as pre-Gaga, probably because I was too young. Gaga shattered my little 5th grade world in 2009
rumours 45,521
There are many artists that I stan and honestly prefer over Gaga. I really became a Gaga fan from C2C and Joanne (two eras where she really showcased her vocal talent). I did come to appreciate the Fame Monster and some tracks off of Born This Way after going through her entire discography. With that said, she is one of the few artists of her generation that has both talent and true creativity. This is why I am a fan of her. Moreover, I don’t believe she has reached her full potential (artistically) yet, so I continue to wait eagerly to see what she has in store for the future. Lord Temptation 11,209
There is no such thing as “a time before Gaga” when it’s hard for me to fathom which parts I should believe EDIT: now I remember I was very into indie rock and dance, mainly UK acts, around 06-07-08 till Gaga usurped them all

FfFfFfFF 55,902
Lana del Rey and florence + The Machine. I also want to mention that my fandom for Gaga didn't replace the others, it's something else. I still like Lana and Florence as much as I used to. blackstar 11,512
Katy Perry I was huge Katy Perry stan until Prism era. Like I watched her movie, I've listened to all of her albums and songs, everything. I was so hyped about Prism and Roar because I thought that we are going to have a dark era (throwback to burning wig and graveyeard Roar teaser) and when Roar came out, I was dissapointed. Actually, during Roar vs. Applause mess, I was Team Roar, but then later when DWUW and Venus came out, I ditched Katy and got my Gaga stan card. Edit: I was a fan of Gaga since Just Dance or Poker Face, but she was like my second or third fave back then. In 2013 Gaga stole Katy's spot. Now, Katy is no where near my top 10 favourite artists. Melania K Trump 6,294
Gaga. And she continues to remain in that position. She's what awakened me to the whole pop music scene in the first place. I remember the exact moment it happened: sometime around 2010-2011 when I discovered Poker Face. The only thing I could think of was how powerful the kickdrum was, how gorgeous the melody was and how transcendent the chorus was. I still love everything about the chorus, how the strings, harmonies and bass all meld together to form the most ear-gasmic instance of sound I've ever heard. My taste in music is still sort of stuck in that era, so I prefer the style of songs from 2009-2015. Current First Lady of the United States. Praying for my husband's death.
