Let’s time travel back to a time when Gangnam Style and The Harlem Shake were huge singles. :ladyhaha:

No, I don’t think so at all. As time passes, we look back and only see the good. It happens every year and it will be the same for the rest of our society. Just appreciate what we have now and don’t long for the past :gaycat:

Nope - scientists and psychologists agree. I study apparel merchandising and this is a theory that we focus on. Trends initially are seen as what they are and then hated almost immediately after they are introduced but as years pass - our enjoyment of them comes back and we appreciate them.

Also, here ——> https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.mic.com/articles/amp/96880/science-explains-why-we-like-old-music-better-than-everything-else

Yeah, maybe you don’t like the music we have now BUT it doesn’t mean that it is FACTUALLY bad. It’s just music that is popular.

I think a lot of the problems with ARTPOP weren't with the music itself, but more with the larger-than-life rollout it had.  Her image with the GP became damaged during the BTW era because of how over-exposed she was and how pretentious she could seem. Then she went and tried to do yet another over-the-top era (although with a totally different concept) again with ARTPOP, and I think people were just sick of it (obviously not myself and other fans, but the GP).

I agree. The music itself was fine (as in the production and vocals and some of the lyrics), but the image was just so over the top and pretentious. Especially since she was already over exposed. Most people couldn't relate to it AT ALL. Even a song like "ARTPOP" which I find to be quite amazing actually, its still called ARTPOP which is kind of pretentious. Eliminate the word and title "ARTPOP" completely and call that song "We Could Belong Together" and it would have smashed. "Aura" and "Venus" just sound so cringeworthy and over the top just by looking at the title. DWUW, SexxDreams, ARTPOP, Dope are some of her best tracks IMO. The first three should have been HUGE hits.

If she released it now, I'd hope she would take the time to polish or rework some of the album tracks, or work on the ones that had potential but were never finished initially when ARTPOP came up... Would it sound dated tho? I don't think so... Also what's up with people saying 'well this is the trend now' as if that's a good thing - Gaga doesn't exactly embrace the concept of following trends if you haven't noticed :trollga:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

Just a random comment, while I'm reading through this thread and boping hard to the song ARTPOP.mp3 - even in 2017 :trollga:

I think anything she realeased at the time would have been perceived as a flop. The narrative of Lady Gaga falling from grace was decided even before the album was released.
