I personally don't think her album is that epic, but she's been through a lot and she fought so hard to get back, and this is gonna help her a great deal in overcoming the damage to her career. Lady Gaga is doing just fine, and this Grammy won't make her more or less of a great artist. If anything, Kesha needs it the most for all categories she's nominated in because this is gonna put her back in the public's eye and make the world see that not only she's making music again, but she's doing great as well. This is a good point. I still would prefer Gaga to win at least one of them, but i'm totally here for Kesha winning as well. That would actually be really sweet if they each won one. Kesha, like you said, really does need this badly. Gaga, on the other hand, seems like she's currently at a place where she can afford to miss out on winning and be just fine. (Although Gaga really does deserve at least one so it almost hurts to say that).

Lady Gaga already does have Grammys and the fact that people compare her to legends like Madonna says a lot about what she has achieved, and Lady Gaga fortunately didn't go through what Kesha has been going through. A year ago, everyone thought Kesha's career is over because of her manager and a lot of people forgot that she existed. She did come back and succeeded with this album, but this recognition is good to cement her as someone appreciated as an artist rather than a singer who charted because of some radio-friendly singles and will help her sales and letting the world (beside those who dig into the latest music news) know that she's back and in a powerful way. These are not the pity awards, Gaga didn’t even win her first nomination lol. MR and Joanne deserve to win
djBuffoon 12,123
Bias aside, "Million Reasons" should win this. Kesha's performance is a very strong one, but Gaga gives such nuance and depth to her delivery, without sacrificing technique. Bonus points for sounding even better live. Don't get me started about how it's the Grammys and Oscars are always pity awards when people complain when there are less women or less black people or less whatever in each award show or Oscars. And it's irrelevant whether Gaga won her first nomination or not. As for Joanne and MR, for me, there are a lot of better Gaga tracks than those and other artists' tracks and albums that are better and more deserving than those.
