#GetDatPromo! Lol, but yeah, they would do stuff like that for Britney when I went to Christian school ten years ago, and I would always cause a big debate because I was a Britney stan. :toofunny:

She's not playing the whole Tacoma Dome, the whole upper level is cut off. I'd say she's playing to 16,000 based on Gaga's sales there.

I feel like Miley Cyrus was forced into the public eyes. I say this because literary everything that she has done that was called "shocking", wasn't shocking to me at all. For example, when the VMA grinding/twerking thing happened, all I did was roll my eyes at her performance, and not for one second did I think that it was going to be a big deal. And I felt the same way when her videos came out and everyone was supposedly "shocked" by these videos.

Now lets take a look at Gaga. You can argue that the media forced Gaga into the public too, but I think that in the contrary to Miley, Gaga did give the public genuine shocks and actual demonstrations of talent. I think my theory is further enforced by Gaga's and Miley's commercial success. Just take a look at the amount of music sales, awards, and acclaim that Gaga recievied in her peak. And now that Miley is at her peak, she pulls in about or even less sales than Gaga does (at a time when Gaga is supposedly "flopping"). This only tells me that the public is not as interested in Miley as the media makes you believe. I feel like Mileys success only came after the media hyped her and or said, look "Miley shocks again", when in reality no one was shocked.

So in other words the media started acknowledging and or hyping Gaga after the media realized that the people were interested in her ( by the cases of music sales, music video views, and radio interest. Also, just look at how long it took for Just Dance to take off). But it seems like Miley's interest only came after the media was constantly hyping her (by exaggerating her actions for example).

A poster I really like on another forum explained the weird paradox of her not-actually-shocking shock-value becoming such a big "water cooler moment" as:

If you feign outrage at this mild spectacle, no-one will suspect that you consume ****ography.

if it seems theyre creating a false sense of outrage, its because the media is busy deflowering her as they like to with young formerly disney stars.

She's the laughing stock of the nation right now. Most people who talk about her are hating or joking about her.
