Harry 26,836
I'm so excited for Gaga to be in the UK again. I hope it helps the album sales at least a little bit but I'm not too sure :ohno:
Harry 26,836
I just saw this on ATRL, not sure if it's true cos I can't find it anywhere else but if it is, then... Simon Cowell is lining up pop royalty including The Wanted, One Direction and Olly Murs to perform during this year's X Factor live shows. The booking list for the finals reads like a who's who in pop, with Lawson, JLS, Leona Lewis, Rebecca Ferguson, Little Mix, Rita Ora, Tulisa, Dappy, Robbie Williams and Emeli Sande all booked to perform. Also appearing are veteran artists Rod Stewart and Andrea Boccelli and Westlife fans are in for a treat with Shane Filan booked to perform his first ever solo single. ITV are planning on cramming in as many as three guest appearances each weekend, to ensure viewing figures rocket once again. A source told us: "The X Factor has shaped the way the music industry works in this country. There's a reason why all of these artists wait until the winter months to release their new albums and it's because of the X effect. They know that performing infront of twelve million viewers or more guarentees great sales. It's as simple as that". It's not like it would be hard to make up though, most of those names will obviously be performing. They used to have legitimately huge WW stars on a weekly basis performing, like Gaga, BEP, Whitney, Britney, Rihanna, Katy, Bieber etc. Now it's just getting all ridiculous and predictable with the likes of Tulisa, Rita, 1D, The Wanted and Little Mix lined up to perform. HOW are they expecting to bring in new viewers by putting on artists every weekend that came from the show in the first place?

StrawberryBlond 14,263
I just saw this on ATRL, not sure if it's true cos I can't find it anywhere else but if it is, then... Wow, that's a lot of their own home-grown acts. Looks like there isn't much room for international acts. I can't really think of any big acts who could perform this year as the most successful ones are all on breaks right now. Katy Perry won't be releasing anything until next year, Rihanna won't be either and she'll be touring next year (she's a big X Factor favourite, so it'll feel odd without her), Britney's on a break, so...there's not much left. I'm sure Carly Rae Jepsen will make an appearance, as will Justin Beiber and possibly Christina Aguilera, if her comeback is successful enough (mind you, she was there in 2010, when she was flopping, so maybe she'll be there regardless). Maybe Taylor Swift at an absolute push, seeing how successful her lead single was here. And yes, if Gaga is releasing a new single at some point this year, she'll likely perform too. If Rihanna can perform on X Factor every year, she can too. But yes, it is odd how they think they can pull in all these new viewers by putting on acts that were made from the show. The biggest viewing figures during the live shows are always when there's huge American artists performing. Britney is responsible for the highest ever X Factor live show rating. Simon just puts all these floppy show-made acts on in an effort to prove that X Factor does churn out talented, successful acts amid all the criticism of winners never succeeding. But it doesn't fool us. Their video presentations are always hilarious as they've barely done anything of any value or worth bragging about. I remember Diana Vickers only got "#1 Debut Album" and "#1 Debut Single" on her presentation and that was about it! The only acts that are worth bringing on are Little Mix (as they were the winners), Leona and One Direction, (as they're the most successful internationally). It should be about quality, not quantity. Due to One Direction, I think JLS's time is pretty much up now. And who knows how much longer Olly's going to be hanging on for.
