It's great that Lana's album made a considerable rise as well as her single - and her tour will extend her selling power again!

Can anyone explain why all these old urban tracks are suddenly charting? There's been no Greatest Urban Hits compliations released recently and these tunes haven't made a comeback through being played on media.

Wow, a ton of surprises here.

Rihanna, both in singles and albums, is selling better than Bruno Mars. Considering Bruno's debut success and that he's a male, I really wasn't expecting this.

Skyfall has only sold 714,700. I thought it would have hit a million for sure by this point considering what an impact it made. I was shocked to discover that it didn't even make the top 5 bestselling 2012 singles in the UK. Impossible, Gangnam Style, Diamonds, Beneath Your Beautiful and Don't You Worry Child were all released in 2012 and have all sold more than Skyfall to date. I think this could well be a glimpse into the future of Adele's sales. Because 21 was so successful, more people are just likely to wait until her new album is released and not bother with buying individual singles. XL really had a big head when they said they aimed for Skyfall to be the biggest selling digital single ever. It must have been really embarrassing after saying that to not even have the song go to #1 in the UK and America. Hopefully the experience has humbled them.

One Direction have only sold 183,400 copies of Kiss You. Goes to show that they inevitably fall after the lead single and then have to rely soley on album sales. I'm actually quite impressed that all these young fans are smart enough to just buy the album and not waste money buying singles. Their chart performance after their lead singles is shocking, mainly because they don't seem to promote outwith the UK (if it weren't for their XF performances, Gotta Be You and Little Things would have been lucky to go top 5). It's rather amusing when they're being touted as the next big thing when they've still only had one global hit (Live While We're Young was not a hit by any stretch of the imagination and dropped like a stone after a few weeks and was never seen again and One Way Or Another only sold well because it was a charity single).

Les Mis is holding up amazingly well for a soundtrack. Soundtracks haven't been selling for donkey's years. It'll be so weird to see it on the top 10 bestselling UK albums end of year list.

Shock horror! What's happened to Michael Buble's selling power? Just 193,399 in the first two weeks? What happened to the man who shifted over 3 million UK copies of Crazy Love and sold an eye-watering 2.1 million copies of his 2011 Christmas album in the UK in just two months? What's gone wrong? Well, his long break might have had something to do with it. Yes, he had his Christmas album in 2011, but it was hardly a studio album, it's composed of lots of songs that have already been covered, there was no tour and was just something to keep the fans going. It was a 3.5 year gap between Crazy Love and now and that is bad for a covers artist. I mean, Susan Boyle releases an album every year and her sales are at an all time low. Covers artists do eventually outstay their welcome and this could be that moment for Michael. And worringly, he's about to start his UK "tour" at the end of next month. I say "tour" because it consists of 10 dates at the O2 and that's all. I mean, what the hell, it's a tour, not a residency! If he thinks his fans will travel from all over the UK down to London on weekdays to see him sing cover songs, he's got another think coming. There are artists much bigger than him who treat their fans with more courtesy than that.

Olly Murs has sold 702,200 in just under six months. That's more than Rihanna and Bruno Mars have sold respectively with their albums released around the same time. I despair of the women in this country sometimes.

Go Paloma! Her label threatened to drop her if her new album wasn't successul, so with any luck, she'll outsell her debut soon, have charted for a year straight and it'll convince her label to keep her on.

Young And Beautiful has been giving Lana's sales a definite boost lately. I hope one day it'll got 3x platinum and then hit a million.

Rita Ora's sales are eye-poppingly bad considering how many #1's she had. If it hadn't been for all those numerous price reductions over the months, platinum status would still be a long way off.

There are artists much bigger than him who treat their fans with more courtesy than that.

i don't really think his long break had anything to do with it. he was still around on the chat shows/the xfactor each year so no one has forgotten about him. i think it's as simple as this album is nowhere near as good/catchy as crazy love. the first single never really caught on - but then again his singles rarely do. the album sounds rushed. i think that's the reason.
