Wow, JLS have fallen to #8 already? I knew Skyfall would start rising again now that the movie's out but I didn't expect it to rise this soon. At this rate, they'll be lucky to chart in the top 10 come Sunday. I said at this time last year that JLS's time was up. Looks like I was right. Simon must be raging. This year, every single X Factor contestant, with the exception of Little Mix, has had their potential #1 scuppered by an a non-reality show act. Must be even madder that some of those who charted higher performed on the show!

Jase, do you have Madonna's sales? And I really want to know how Rita Ora's album's sold as I can't find information anywhere. I can't believe that album's nearly out the top 40 already. But then again, I'm not surprised. It's criminally unforgettable and bland. I also can't believe that in nearly 8 months, Nicki's still only sold little over 205,000 copies of her album. Gaga sold over 215,000 copies of BTW on her first week of release. It's quite deceptive when you see how high the album's charting and easy to forget that album sales are awful these days, so just because an album's charted high doesn't mean it has crazy sales.

As if Into The Groove is Madonna's best selling single! It should be Like a Prayer or Vogue or Hung Up!

Gaga is the newest artist on that list too

Damn. That's even worse than I thought. It's weird that Madonna didn't seem to do any UK promo and Rita disappeared after How We Do and didn't even perform her singles anywhere except festivals. Both of them brought their poor sales on themselves. Gaga is one of the few pop artists who really try to convince the public that their album is worth buying. Too many popstars in the digital age are content with being singles artists and just gloss over how poor their album sales are. I reckon its sad. I've been rolling about laughing over the things Tulisa's said about her upcoming album, things like

"I wanted to release a few singles before the album, to give people a reason to buy it."

"I realeased a dance single because I wanted my first single to go to #1, but the next one's going to really define me as an artist."

"I'm releasing a ballad next because I think every artist should have that one ballad that stands the test of time."

"I don't care about getting a #1 album, I just want to go platinum."

This woman's level of self importance and low standards kill me. I don't know if she's talking about American platinum status (1 million copies) or just selling a million worldwide or just platinum in the UK. Because someone really needs to tell her that platinum status in the UK means you've only sold (or shipped, specifically) 300,000 copies, which is great for an unknown indie artist but nothing to be proud of when you're a mainstream popstar who's promoted as much as she is.

Getting 300k album sales is success in the UK, when you think of all the big names with big singles that are struggling to do it.

Unless you're one of the 10-15 elite like Gaga, Rihanna, Coldplay, etc.

It's absolutely ridiculous, I agree. It's like, have at least a BIT of integrity, but it's all about their single sales. Just ugh.

As for Tulisa's sales (the less said about HER the better, I'll just fly into a rant), well her album isn't even going to sell 300k. It'll probably even struggle to sell 200k

Calvin's album arrived at mine today!

It's a good album but he has released too many singles prior to the album release and it has removed what could've been a wow factor

Calvin and Tinie are performing on Jonathan Ross next Saturday, so I assume Drinking from the Bottle is the next (and final) single. Should end the year for him with a huge bang.

I think it may be the lead single from Tinie's album 'Demonstration' as well?

nah, it's a Calvin record, so Tinie won't use that as the lead single from his new album. I'm expecting something huge to kick off Tinie's next era, probs around early spring time
