Arturo 40,746
Did you see his NBC special ratings tanked too? Bieber is gonna be irrelevant after this album. And hey, Usher stuck in there a bit like we had hoped! Not impressive, but not bad either. Also worth noting, not trying to start a stan war, but Teenage Dream and Talk That Talk are both doing pretty ****ty sales wise despite big singles. Yeah, I don't see another Top 5 hit from the album. Maybe not even Top 10.....
Bad 32
I'll agree that Lady Gaga's next album will be a test of her sustainability in the industry. The fourth album era (or third LP for her) is always really a defining moment, along with the album that follows. You're beyond the introduction phase so you need to flex different colors and show you can stand the wind of change as years go by. What Gaga did with Born This Way was establish that critical acclaim and experimental edge BEFORE her fourth era/3rd LP, so she can actually play it a bit safer and not have to stick her neck as far out as Christina/50 cent/etc. She jumped a step in the usual industry set-up. She moved way ahead of past artists by fracturing/scaring some of her fans away earlier on in her career, while she had the hype and momentum to rebound. If she did that with a later album, that may have not been the case. (Christina) She probably figured "I can lose some wind and some fans now while the media keeps chasing me around, but who knows where I'll be 2 years from now." Now, after a rather rocky album era and some backlash, she's still seen as the top b---h in music and can do whatever she wants with her 4th era. That's a great luxury. That's what I like about the BTW era. It may have been rocky but it was a very smart career move. It cost Gaga some of her casual fanbase but she won over a lot of critics and silenced some of her naysayers. Now she just needs the right material to win back those casual fans. Yes let's hope Usher can pull another 50k next week. I guess he released a new single so maybe he will get more attention. I am hoping for "numb" next. I really love that song for some reason. I'm also happy for Smashing Pumpkins! I have melon collie and the infinite sadness on my ipod right now. Not sure they can ever match that epicness. Winning back casual fans takes two seconds, winning over critics/creating a strong fanbase may never happen. (See Katy Perry/Rihanna.) Gaga knows what she's doing. Over 100M AI overall, along with his album selling decently. :) This makes me happy!
Innovative 17
It's so annoying that Madonna's "Superstar" is Bravo's Song of the Summer. They use it on every commercial, and I'm sorry, that song is just awful. Roll my eyes every time it comes on. Your my superstar That's what you are You my superstar Love the way that you are I'm your biggest fan It's true Really? That's the best you can do? craig 680
Did you see his NBC special ratings tanked too? Bieber is gonna be irrelevant after this album. Not surprising or a big deal, considering his demographic is so limited. He's hardly declining the way people predicted a couple years ago. Might just hang around like Justin Timberlake, who was despised widely by hetero males too. Edited June 22, 2012 by craig

If he doesn't have any real follow-up to Boyfriend, I don't see him lasting. He was already struggling with relevance prior to the album release. Echo 327
Justin is going to flop. Rihanna is not going to be around for a bit cause she's doing her movie thing. Katy... well... Katy's just gonna do what she feels like... most likely sit back. 1D is pretty weak and me knocked off. If Gaga releases this single soon... she doesn't have a problem with BB100. :lala:

Arturo 40,746
I'm not too scared about Ke$ha. I love her music but the general public thinks Gaga >>> Ke$ha Not sure how Gaga and P!nk will do with overlapping eras. I'm assuming Gaga will be more successful but then again you never know

craig 680
http://www.mtv.ca/ne....jhtml?id=43735 Justin T vs Justin B compared. I'm impressed Bieber got a single as strong as Boyfriend. Like Britney early on or Madonna since 2003, he doesn't need a lot of radio hits to be a success. Maybe just 1 an era, at most 2. P!nk doesn't stay #1 for long... I think Gaga could swipe her off her feet. But Ke$ha... If we get a Tik Tok VS. Bad Romance PT.

But, like I said, it all depends on how her new music sounds. LG can obvs make blockbuster hits when she wants, but she chooses (which is good) to instead make riskier tracks in an effort to make them more memorable. Ke$ha said she'd do more rock-influenced music.. but from what we've heard, it just sounds like more of the same crap.
