the lyrics are quintessential gagz, tbh. i'm sure there must also be a "d-d-d-do that" part. :trollga:

:oprah: something tells me that this movie is going to flop... I was more excited for the country duet with Brad tbh

Probably the fact that inconsistency is written all over it.

I wonder if the song is intentionally basic and vapid to demonstrate that Allie has lost her artistic integrity and sold out by transitioning to pop? Just an idea...

Kind of like the John Legend band/song in La La Land?

I heard her sing the song like five times today. It's fine, but it's no hit single. It's a fine album track. Reminded me of sorta basic early Britney, but less catchy. Ha.

Yeah... I dunno how to feel about all this. Sure it's gonna be cool to get some more fun bops, but... It feels like she's just gonna be playing someone not that far from herself. We only know tidbits from the filming so I'm not gonna draw conclusions, but I fear they're trying to make it seem it too modern with trendy pop music and as such won't make for such a serious viewing. Idk.

Like that idea. I kinda hope so. Ironically, those songs will probably be the most popular amongst fans even in that situation lol.

Oh I love it too, it's a total bop! But in the film  it's meant to show how Ryan Gosling has essentially "sold out" and given up on his dreams because it's not really jazz, it's just easily digestible pop music.

I was there and this was what I was thinking. Especially because the outfits were pretty tacky.
