Then during A-YO, this song relates and connects to "Freakshow" that "mysteriously" *cough gaga*cough* leaked before Joanne was released... she sings a line talking about casting spells, and which one she'll never tell.. in both songs ;)

AND AT THE END OF THE SHOW SHE SAYS IT'S THE WITCHING HOUR

oh I forgot to mention Ruth.

BY THE WAY, Ruth directed the backing visuals, like she was suppose to direct VENUS (and probably all of the ARTPOP music videos), notice how she's heavily involved with Joanne? ;)

Ya but she's basically saying that with Telephone she felt put in a box, to be this "Fame Monster", she wanted to explore other genres, but no one would let her... not Troy, not the record company.. but then she came outside the box and partied on VENUS with THE CURE!

Only thing is... how is The Cure "leaving the box"? If anything she jammed herself right back in there.

I didn't analyze everything that much, but I cried with The Cure because I was thinking the same thing: she was LITERALLY talking about ARTPOP. She's cured from it now. The lyrics to that basic song are not basic at all. She's strong and happy again.

It took her five years to recover, and yesterday was the day she told us, and she thanked us with all she had.

To me, it doesn't sound in the box though. She's telling a story of ok well this is what happened, then I was put in a box, to be like every other artist, then she goes onto The Cure.

As I said, It doesn't sound in the box. She's exploring something new. It's an ironic kind of song, because she said she knew what we wanted, and we were all whinging (well most were) about not having "cool" music again.. and she's literally just gone and done that.

It's relatable, it's catchy, it's sweet.
I wouldn't classify it as "in the box", as it's what SHE WANTED to make, because we wanted her to? It kind of goes round in a circle. She's not gonna do it if she's told, but she's open to giving us what we want if we just hear her out first. She's ALWAYS been about this.

I'm not 100% sure on what you're saying? I read the OP which is a good summary of the past 5 years but I don't see how she "fixed it" in 1 night?

I think sometimes fans put too much emphasis on this ARTPOP "downfall" and the metaphors behind it. It was just a mediocre-selling album that had management issues BTS. I don't think it's a big metaphor for life and rebirth.

There isn't much to fix.  We said C2C fixed AP, then AHS, then Oscars/Grammys, then Superbowl  (x2) and now Coachella. Other artists don't need to or don't work so hard to fix their image and I think a lot of the time it's the fans who think she does, when in reality there never was much to fix.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

I'm gonna get all mushy for a second but only because what I'm saying is the truth. Gaga has changed so many lives. I don't think she ever intended for "us" to happen. She just wanted to make music but then we came into the picture and it changed everything. She glued so many of us back together when we were so shattered. She created a "home" where the so called "freaks" could be themselves without fear of persecution. She never told us to stop dressing so weird or to wipe our makeup off because it was ugly. She loved us unconditionally for who we were. To quote gaga's episode of the Simpsons for a second "all my monsters are beautiful". My best friend Mandy calls the cure "I wanna be with you 2.0" and I'd have to agree with her. We aren't just fans to gaga. We're a massive part of her. We mean the world to her. We've always been her cure when she's upset so she'll always be our cure even when we say we're ok. We truly have something special ♥️. "What you and I have little monsters isn't just for a moment. It's for life".

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

We get one of these threads every time Gaga does good :emma:

All I got from that OP was that she was broken...a lot :rip:

The Telephone "box" was supposed to be a modernized telephone booth, wasn't it?

not when the song is about the pressure on her as a global popstar

it can't be just a box then

not when it's a song off her most metaphorical album

We aren't just fans to her. We're a massive part of her ♥️. I've always said that if one of us ever really truly honest to god needed her, she would be there in a heartbeat regardless of the distance or hour. The bond we share is truly amazing

YAAAS! very very nice of you! And my favorite performance of the night was Venus, she really delivered the song, showing it could have easily served as a 2nd single!

babes i'm sorry but there are some logical leaps there that you are  making. If she does what this *We* you keep referring to want from her (still not sure who this we is, it's certainly not I), than if ever there was a box, that would be putting herself in it.

I love the original post + many analyses you made, but this last bit about The Cure is not doing it for me:hor:

That's fair enough, but to me I see it as she's giving the fans what they've wanted, she has always said "things I put out don't sound like they are on the radio" etc. but SO many monsters have been complaining they want a "commercial hit", and to me, now that she's in a good place with her life and her music, she's putting out the music little monsters want.

Sure, that might not be your taste, however it certainly to me doesn't sound like what's on the radio. To me it sounds like a pop song. It sounds like something that a lot of people think of when they think of "pop superstar" if you get what I mean. I dunno how to explain it any better. To me it sounds a lot like what A Star Is Born is going to be like too. :)
