djBuffoon 12,120
I just don't think the GP knew what to do with it. The songwriting is great, the vocals are raw and powerful, the production is stellar. It's just a very angry and abrasive song, and I love it, but I can understand why people wouldn't be here for it. Nirvana 2,712
We did not even get a proper live performance... The lack of promo + GPs bad taste is the fault here. It for sure did not sound like anything on radio at the moment. I wish it had smashed, but oh well...

It works perfectly as a track on Joanne, but as a single - not so much (purely song-wise and radio-wise). MAYHEM / ARTPOP

Actually I agree with you. I don't know what's about the song that's so addictive, but setting that aside, I think the song had potential to be so much better. I don't want to act like a critic cause I can't write a verse..., but I don't think Gaga and her team thought this song through and through when writing/producing it. The "It wasn't laaaahv" hook is one of the best Gaga has made, fight me, but at least 40% of the song is a hot mess, that you can enjoy if you've already heard the song, but not so much if you're first hearing it on the radio or somewhere..... This is exactly what happened. The overhype. Pink flamingos always fascinated me.
TheJackMonster 1,857
It just needed to be less repetitive, and with radio friendlier production. It had so much potential.

Sepsami 18,886
It might not have been a big hit but that doesn't mean it'll be any less iconic when that opening sound (y'all know what I'm talking about) echos through the arena during the JWT THE GP WILL BE SHOOKT AND WILL BEG FOR FORGIVENESS FOR LETTING IT FLOP (kinda flop but nowhere near GUY level of flop)
