The Florence collab is perfect, since she's always been a natural and quiet yet talented musician and her vocals on the song really make the song stand out. As for as lyrical content, let's see: "Hey girl, hey girl We can make it easy if we lift each other Hey girl, hey girl We don't need to keep on one-in' up another Hey girl, hey girl Hey girl, hey girl If you lose your way Just know that I got you Just know that I got you" Female empowerment. Saying as long as the girls stick together, they'll be okay. They do not need to outdo, outsing, outdance, outperform one another. They can be one. What a beautiful and simple message, it feels so authentic coming from Gaga especially. "Help me hold my hair back Walk me home 'cause I can't find a cab And we dance down the bowery Held hands like we were 17 again And then it's 4am The sun is creepin' up again Don't you leave me Oh, darling don't you leave me" AMAZING LYRICS. THE INSTRUMENTAL DURING THIS FEELS SO CLIMATIC AND EMOTIONAL. SUCH BEAUTIFUL LYRICS. It just makes me wanna get wasted and go to Bowery Street near Soho with some fellow hunty and blast this song and sing along at the top of my lungs. HOW CAN ANY LITTLE MONSTER HATE HEY SLAY? I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND. HATE ON MILLION REASONS, THE TRUE WORST SONG OFF JOANNE! DISCLAIMER: I'm being dramatic ofc but I do love Hey Girl lol.
