I'm offended that you even asked this question. I have forwarded a link to this thread to Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, who I expect you will hear from soon.

Who is that?

@Haroon make your say :gaycat:

It's good but it's so watered down :deadbanana: If it was some tracks shorter (the slower weak ones, not all but most unfortunately) then it would be so great :excited2: My favourite is Birds of Prey :flutter:

super ultra

It has some really great songs (Prima Donna, My Girls, Desnudate) but some filler tracks too. It didn't deserve the massive flop :giveup:

I don't like it is badly produced, sometimes too over produced, the production is aggressive and not in a good way.

The aesthetic for the era was really bad, it was just too much like Gaga & Madonna.

Then the album has too many tracks and I don't know it was just bad and it was released at a bad time.

It was in no way ahead of its time if anything it sounded old.

It's ok...but that's it. It certainly wasn't awful like some people made it out to be, there are some unquestionably good songs on there, but it's definitely one of her weaker releases. There are some outright awful songs on it. Actually, I listen to it in full about once a year since its release and over time, I realised that certain songs that I enjoyed at the time now sound awful to me and I never knew what I saw in them. Vanity used to be my second favourite song on there, but now it just sounds bad! She went very childish for some of those songs and I have no idea why her label gave her the go-ahead to put them on an album. After her mature sound on Back To Basics, a lot of these immature songs were a terrible regression. The massive 2 steps backward she took with Bionic is one of the biggest reasons why the album failed. Also, some of the best tracks were relegated to bonus material, so the public couldn't hear how good they are and they brought down the quality level of the standard version. And all the work she'd done with Goldfrapp never made it onto the record and I would've loved to have heard that. All in all, it was the first Xtina album I regretted buying and it stopped me being a fan. Just as well I never gave her a second chance with Lotus, that one was her worst ever! Bionic is very much a 50/50 album for me. It's one of the most perfect 3/5's I've ever given an album.

Best songs: Bionic, Woohoo, Sex For Breakfast, Lift Me Up, All I Need, I Am, You Lost Me, My Girls, Monday Morning,* Birds Of Prey,* Stronger Than Ever,* Little Dreamer*

Worst songs: Not Myself Tonight, Elastic Love, Desnudate, I Hate Boys, Vanity, Bobblehead*

*bonus tracks

I really am baffled when she says she thought it was ahead of its time. It sounded outdated in 2010 (a lot of people actually said this in their reviews at the time) and it sounds even more outdated now! If it really is ahead of its time, how far ahead into the future are we talking here?! Primadonna is definitely an outdated sound. It sounds like something you would have heard during the urban reign in the mid-2000's. Glam was clearly trying to channel Madonna in an attempt to sound like Xtina's version of Vogue. Sex For Breakfast sounds like a traditional 90's RnB ballad, definitely in the style of something Madonna would have put on her 1994 album, Bedtime Stories. Birds Of Prey sounds like something Goldfrapp or any other dark electronic act would have made. Elastic Love, My Girls and Monday Morning sound like the sort of songs that underground electronic acts have been making for years. Woohoo was quite a current sound (especially the rap bit), I Hate Boys was compared to Kesha's music by some and Not Myself Tonight was 100% designed to sound current because it was a rip-off of every electronic hit around at the time. I just went back to watch that clip where she talks about looking back at Bionic 2.5 years later and she calls it "beautiful," "experimental," "a masterpiece" (twice), "artistic," "interesting," "ahead of its time," (she not so subtely mentions how Sia and Nicki were on there) and then added that she thinks all her records will stand the test of time and be remembered long after she's gone. See, this was part of the reason I stopped being a fan. She thinks way too highly of herself to the point of delusion. Yeah, girl, I'm sure you put Sia and Nicki on that record because you had the intuition that they were going to blow up further down the line, thus you could credit yourself with discovering them before anyone else. SUUUURRE.
