Stephen 30,423
Its a cute song. I think the problem was Demi is just lame Especially bc of the poot thing last year, she just became a joke.

ReidOne 12,427
I actually love the video for "Cool for the Summer" .... the bright colors (and the rainbow lights atop the Library Tower in the background of downtown LA) are clearly a shoutout to the LGBT community (mirroring the lyrics). But more importantly, Demi is working her body like a god damn super model! She hits ALL the marks with those poses. And the hair flips --- omg. She looks so sexy to me. And the EDITING!! The editing of this video is off the chart. They totally mirror the energy of the song with the edit. Which is the sign of a truly high quality music video. Yes, there are many factors that make a great video (the concept, the cinematography, etc...), but great pop videos are really defined by the editing. And how well they visually convey the sonic experience of listening to the song. And this video nails it! I honestly watch this video and feel so PROUD of her, for real. And like I said, I'm not even one of her fans. But I am aware of her struggles with battling addiction and eating disorders. It's an absolute triumph in my eyes that she made a video like this where she looks so sexy and confident, getting her damn LIFE working her "normal" girl body into all those poses that make her look like a high fashion model (ok, she's still super fit and far from a "normal" body, but she's "normal" by Hollywood standards). I will always love her for giving us this! Hit or not, she's proven her worth with this single.
JusKeepBreathin 19,311
I won't be taking you seriously ever again. But with "Body Say" she finally has a bop. Lion Heart 15,041
Yas. Stan for the iconic smash that was CFTS. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀
ReidOne 12,427
Listening deeper into her catalog now on Spotify... A few thoughts: - "Stone Cold" has a nice hook in the chorus, but overall the song is not a bop and its rather depressing. Its not something most people want to hear 10x a day while listening to the radio. And her vocals, while fantastic live, sound a little forced on the recording. So its not like listening to an Adele track, but it clearly aims to be. - "Body Say" could be a hit... who am I to judge (I'm clearly spending my time stanning for CFTS after a year, lol)... It's got all the right elements and is an appealing song, but it does not really speak to me. Sounds a lot like everything else out right now. Could be a hit tho. It's one of the biggest crimes in the history of pop music that this song wasn't an absolute smash. Demi was ROBBED. It reminds me of when Xtina's "Your Body" flopped (also Max Martin)... a CRIME! Both of those songs are bops. SO is Not Myself Tonight. those are my three unappreciated bops of all time! I love them to death!!! I love the alley scene particularly in this video. Reminds me of TEOG. If All You Ever Do Is Look Down On People, You Won't Be Able To Recognize Your Own Weaknesses.

A good performance of Lionheart (without the screaming) could have brought acclaim and nice buzz tho. A shame... There's no doubt that "Old Ways" and "Kingdom Come" would at least enter the Top 20 of the US BB Hot 100. They are bops and radio friendly. Poissonche 12,365
It's been a year already? 2015 and 2016 went by so fast for me, I feel like life didn't happen during that time to be honest But YES, COOL FOR THE SUMMER IS A BOP. Last year, when it came out, I liked it, but this year, it got even better. Bite that cherry girl.
