JesseBabe 837
Some of you guys really need to have some faith in Gaga. I mean, could you imagine if she and Katy release at the same time and Gaga come out on top? Sorry, but I think no matter when Gaga releases she will have some sort of competition whether it be Katy or someone else. I don't really care about the charts either way, but I know it's a huge fear on this forum.

Bad Bromance 5,809
I already answered this last night and my answer remains unchanged. No, I am not scared, shook, or whatever you want to call it, by KP's new album release. Not worried in the least bit. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me. Pop 4,541
23 minutes ago, Lance said: Nope. Her upcoming era will be bigger than before. Some artists (taylor, kreayshawn, nicki minaj, for example) came off with huge singles then plummeted to the bottom pits. That's not how it'll go for Katy Taylor has been dominating and outselling Katy for a decade. Taylor is on her fifth album and keeps topping herself. PRISM already displayed a decline for Katy and now without Dr Luke, her future is very questionable. The Taylor Brigade: KNOCKOUT

M I M I Z 946
I don't understand the people who want every singer to write their own songs????!!!! Writing songs is not a duty for every singer to do you know + It's a different talent and what singers have to do is to sing well and that's it. I would rather Katy to hire a professional writer than to try herself and fail miserably like others. Can't wait for KP4 Side note: Don't blame Katy this time okay
StrawberryBlond 14,819
16 hours ago, Drunk Poet said: Unsurprisingly, the limited intellect and collective consciousness of the GP began the horribly sensationalist female vs female crap, and tried to incite competition that shouldn't be there, because as Gaga said, her music and her art has absolutely nothing to do with Katy Perry. Just because they are both female, and the fact that Katy has copied so much stuff from Gaga, do not make them musically or artistically comparable. The GP buys Katy's music as it as created in such a way that it is easy listening (for most), has 'uplifting' bubblegum chords and is radio-friendly. Gaga was the biggest selling female and most downloaded artist of all time purely because her art translated in a unique way where it hit a pop cultural nerve and triggered a complete revolution in the music industry. So due to that, in my opinion, she had every right to go away and make an experimental disco-R&B record to grow and heal as an artist, and every stupid comparison to Katy Perry should never have been made. It was an insult to Gaga, and yet another example of the naive senselessness of the GP. In 100 years when people look back, they will laugh in dismay at the ignorance of the GP today. Just like we do when we look back at the 1920s. While I do agree with the overall point you're making, I felt the need to add an extra dimension to the theory of why they are compared. Yes, it can be about classic female vs. female stuff, but as a woman myself, I can see something else in it too - it's down to perceived rivalry. Females are far more likely to get pitted against one another if there's some sort of beef. Katy has been perceived to have been shady towards Gaga since 2010, ever since she made that tweet about "using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling fart jokes" just as Gaga had released the Alejandro video. Since then, there's been some more subtle shade. And also, the whole Roar vs. Applause and Prism Vs. AP situation that came right out of nowhere and was likely planned by Katy's team. All this stuff is a big reason why many Gaga fans, myself included, have a problem with Katy. She always seems to be taking the shine off Gaga when she cannot match her in talent. So, naturally, a comparison will happen, just like there's comparisons surrounding sports stars who hate each other and are evenly matched in achievements. There's comparisons against male rappers releasing albums all the time, considering rap rivalries are legendary. It's not always quite so straightforward as female vs. female. In Gaga's and Katy's case, there's a comparison in the rivalry stakes. That's why I always compare them. It's rarer to see Gaga getting compared to, say. Taylor or Nicki, because there's no rivalry there in terms of bitchiness towards each other and their achievements are different. Certainly, the only girls who got compared in my school were the ones who were evenly matched in intelligence or sass. Comparisons wouldn't be pulled out of nowhere, there would be some sort of basis, no matter how irrelevant. Certainly, a girl can pick up on what that rivalry is because, well, as your point states, we're so used to female vs. female crap that we can pinpoint potential rivalry before it even begins! HANZ 4,380
gaga's the only one the blame here, it's almost June and NOTHING it's taking way too long gurl the last time you made an album was in 2013 (C2C doesn't count since it was full of covers) My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
johnpe 916
I think that the GP is over with Katys sugar coated pop and unless she changes her style she will flop this time. Gaga is working with top notch producers and I don't know how you see LG5 as a flop already, we don't even know the title?! MAKE IT WORK
