Good point. There's something so absurd and almost futuristic in how the Britney Spears brand is run - it's like she doesn't have to actually sing, nor does she have to perform anywhere for promo. It's like her team is mainly running with the idea of Britney Spears now. It's like the whole basis of QT, that PC music project or whatever that's run by AG Cook, Sophie and a few others, but fronted by a woman who kind of does nothing but serves as the face person of the whole thing.

Yes. She is basically just the face of her team. Or a brand rather than an artist

Not even close, I mean Milli Vanilli came before Britney.

The Backstreet Boys and NSYNC came before Britney. The Spice Girls came before Britney.

All of those examples are probably even more controlled than Britney.

Some of you are disgusting, Britney has little control of her business life because she's on a ****ing conservatorship. Did you all forget about her huge breakdown or that she's mentally ill? From 2008 - 2014 of course she was uninterested in her career, do any of you understand how hard it is being Bipolar, especially being famous and having kids? Now though Britney seems to be way more involved than ever, if you notice now she doesn't just call everything cool and exciting, she described her album as her baby & she's performing better than ever in Vegas. She's happy, humble & you're all pressed.

Thank you! After 2007, I'm just glad she's alive and happy living her life. And the fact we get new music and a show on top of it is just icing on the cake. Britney has proved her worth and impacted the industry and now she's enjoying life. The negativity has to stop.

YAS she should've retired tbh but her father and team wouldn't let her even after her huge breakdown in 2007 she was right back in the spotlight in 2008 & in 2011 after having a relapse in 2010 (which resulted in Femme Fataleney). Ironically enough she found her love again in music in a time she hated it.

Exactly! If she's happy, I'm happy. I care about Britney far beyond the music and that's why I'm passionate about defending her against messes like this. You'd think Gaga fans would have more respect for the woman who inspired Gaga so greatly and impacted pop music in such a major way

We know that most pop stars today are super controlled by their music labels. But it seems to me that Britney Spears started this "Puppet Popstars" trend. She seems to be the first or at least one of the first basic popstars with a pretty look to be super controlled by their label rather than the artist dominating with their artistic vision. Even now, the only thing Britney and many others do is lend their simple vocals (even this is questionable coming from Britney) while their team produces and polishes a product for the masses. So what do you think?

I would say Marilyn Monroe was the first.... She was medicated and controlled. I would say she could be the start of modern day pop stardom
