He may when the nomination, but he is going to have a hard time in the general election. That's why the GOP hasn't embraced him until recently snd that's why they are still holding back. He is very much likely to win the nomination, but he is too extreme, I believe, to win the general primary election in November.

Wrong. Last night he won all demographics INCLUDING THE LATINO VOTE. One degree of extremism on the right doesn't make Bernie any less extreme on the left. Your argument of extremism being a factor in a general does not bode well for Bernie Sanders but I guess that argument is exempt when it comes from that side of the opinion cycle.

To avoid confusion on where Donald stands on the issues, here is a link of where he stands on issues provided by http://www.ontheissues.org/Donald_Trump.htm

This should also be noted that campaign stances change from presidential stances. 4 years ago Barack Obama finally said he was for Gay Marriage were as 8 years prior he was completely against it. As was Hillary Clinton.

12 years ago Trump was pro-choice, a supporter of democratic economic policies. I can sit here and tell you that my favorite jacket is black but wear brown every single day next week. These types of things shouldn't be held as golden set in stone.

Furthermore Bernie Sanders in the past 10 years has been an opponent of Gun Control laws in his home state of Vermont where he represents.

All demographics of the Republican Party. That demographic make up is entirely different than the Independents and the Democrats. 90 per cent of the voters last night were white. Only 8 per cent were Latino.

The Independents will be a big factor in this race. I believe there are too many Independants that will not vote for Trump.

I've already stated in previous discussions that I believe Trump snd Sanders are the flip side of the same coin in many ways.

Why is everything so over the top hysterical with your comments, People here are having a discussion. Try to just state your opinions and facts and have a discussion.

That's great if you were in the position the candidate decided to turn to, but what if it was the other way around? What if Barack Obama was for gay marriage four years ago and then decided to be against it last year when it was crucial?

THIS.

He is NOT getting the Latino vote. What a joke. I am Latino. I literally know ONE Latino person who is voting for Trump.

Let's wait for other states to see how the Latino vote fairs. Plus around 70% of Latino voters vote Democrat anyway. He only has 30% who could potentially vote for him and most won't I'm guessing....

How is it ignorant? Its one of his policies... and its about ISIS rn... Those crazy "Christian" people that do terrible things are not even close to the level they are on. So please rather than bash my faith and make me sound like a terrorist please focus on what the politics are about.

It's ignorant because you just made a racist comment. Those Christian people are just as bad as terrorists of any religious text. I also find it quite ironic that you find it offensive when I bring up Christian extremist, but when you do the same for Muslim extremist, you're a-okay with "bashing" their faith.

You haven't listed four policies you agree with trump on, you're a racist with little to no empathy for anyone but yourself, and you're just a bandwagon trump supporter.

Grow up.

You don't know what I wanted you to list because you have no idea what Trump wants to do in office. You're just a band wagon supporter.

It's not like any trump supporters will really look at your link, they could care less about his policies. They just care that he's gonna build an impossibly expensive and time consuming Iron curtain and deport "all those rapists".

I simply disagree. I feel that with the fact that Trump is drawing record new registrations of voters and expanding the electorate does not bode well for your arguments. The problem with the Republican Party is that its been the "old white bible believing old party"... Trump is bringing in Latinos, African Americans, and conservative Democrats that are not keen on a candidate being investigated by the FBI (Clinton) or a self proclaimed socialist (Bernie obviously).

In most states you have to declare your party when you register or you have to switch your affiliation , some people particularly people who dont vote often don't realize that until its too late. so the turnout number may reflect that issue some.

Oh and no worries... I know I come off as abrasive I don't mean to be... I just expected a lot of flack for the opinions I hold on a mostly liberal forum. I apologize for my pre-emptive defensiveness. I enjoy discussions such as this very much.

I don't think that's a fair assumption. I appreciate his willingness to take on corporate inversions and actually im pro-amnesty in most cases, but I am for border security for national security purposes. I dont think we can upend all 11 million immigrants here. I say you take the ones with a criminal record and send them out because that's the morally right thing to do. It's not fair for the law abiding illegals to just be deported. Some of them are embedded in communities. They deserve a path to citizenship. But that doesn't mean I have to not support Trump.

Another thing that I support Trump policy wise on is his stances on education. I think common core is a mess and he will get rid of it. And he's for reforming health-care by removing the ACA (ObamaCare) and replacing it with something more universal. He has said "We dont need people dying on the streets because they can't afford it" but you only hear the brash soundbites , not the heartfelt ones like that.

I was skeptical about Trump for many reasons back last year but I honestly do think he's a good person. i don't think he's a bigot for the most part I think he's just very brash at times but honestly that's what I respect about him.

Plus, you're right. Bernie and Trump are similar in many ways. Including their lack of acceptance of SuperPac money. They BOTH should be applauded for that and good for them for making this about issues and not taking lobbyist money that they will be bound to when and if they ever get elected. Obama really burnt me out on that...

He might be talking tough, but I doubt he'd deport 12 million people and build a costly wall that we are expected to believe to be built by Mexico? it sounds like rhetoric to garner votes and this is what this is really about.

The real issue on immigration is whether to allow 12 million or so people to become citizens and the right to vote.  And the Democratic Party might sound altruistic, but all this banter about amnesty is really about them getting more votes.  Whatever it takes for those people to live decent lives, but it is wise to look passed the talking points and be practical when listening to candidates.
