Same can be said about elder people who aren't really keeping up with modern pop culture. Depends who you ask, I suppose. But Gaga is definitely more known for her looks. Whether that means her specific looks are more iconic than specific Madonna's look, then I don't know. The only 80s trend I despised. Her 90s and early 2000s are way more iconic to me. As for Gaga, she have her bad days too, and granted the future kids will see her funny too, but personally I favored her style better. Didymus 34,380 Posted October 28, 2015 Share Posted October 28, 2015 Madonna because her iconic ones made a statement beyond shock factor and, most importantly, Madonna's fashion sense has always inspired trends, Gaga has never started a mainstream trend among the masses.To protect myself from hatred: I don't think that's necessary at all, but because of that, I still think Madonna earns the title more than Gaga does.But to be completely honest: in public memory they probably both have the same amount of looks that people instantly think of. So far in my opinion for Gaga it's just the meat dress. It's known around the world and had a huge impact on how Gaga was perceived by the media and general public. Madonna had several looks, not special outfits, that became fashion trends. The early lav look was copied to death by every school girl, later on she was most successful with her spiritual look during the rol era and even more with the cowboy theme during music. The GP and masses no NOTHING about Gaga's looks. To The masses she is freaky weird outfits &meatdress. They can't eally recognice her looks 'cause she change them a hundred times a day, they are like costumes, not looks per say. (Btw this is one of The things I love about her)Madona on the other hand has many many looks everyone Associates her with. And like said, she has influenced and created mainstream trends many many times. Unlike Gaga. So thats why her looks are Iconic.Buthe question is quite pointless. I like both. Madonnas fashion during her early years were just as talked about as gagas so only time can tell what will remain iconic from gagas wardrobe. Obviously, the meat dress will remain for years and years to come, but when you think gaga, what immediately comes to mind? For me, sun glasses, bangs, sirloin and leotards.
