As a horror fan of over 20 years, this was a pretty decent episode!

The rape scene was a bit much but it didn't "disturb" me the way others are making it out to be.

I can't quite figure out if Gagas character is supposed to talk like she's from the 1920s or if that's how she acts...

nonetheless, that s-x scene was one of the coolest horror scenes I've seen in a while.

This immediately came to my mind! She doesn't have a European accent like some reviews wrote, it's old-time Hollywood, like an old moviestar. And whats a European accent anyway lol, there's hundreds of accents.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

Okay I just finished watching it and OH MY GOD!! It's better than I ever thought it could be. Her accent is to die for and her presence is just incredible. I didn't see Gaga, I saw the Countess, which I LOVED. I also loved Sarah and Matt and Kathy, very strong characters and I'm looking forward to see them develop and finding out more about them.

It's a very s-xy episode and I didn't feel as scared as much as I thought I would. There is a LOT of blood. It's everywhere. The rape scene was a little long but it didn't overly disturb me like I thought it might.

Gaga's accent when she is talking to Lachlan and showing him around is the best accent she's done. There was a line where it definitely sounded more Gaga than Countess but that gets ironed out with practice. That would be me being picky though, she was flawless. That 1920s, Gatsby accent is just so perfect, I love it.

I totally understand that 'you don't see a lot of Gaga but you see a lot of Gaga' comment after having seen the episode.

Meh. There is a difference between gore and horror. Nothing in this episode seemed legitimately scary to me. It all seemed like it was for shock value, especially the murdered woman on top of the man whose eyes and tongue had been cut out. I mean seriously?! The detectives/forensics team basically completely ignored him. GET HIM SOME MEDICAL ATTENTION instead of just standing around or photographing ****. Completely unrealistic, and sloppy writing tbh.

That said the episode did have some great moments, I particularly enjoyed the soundtrack and the way Gaga's scenes were shot.

"Call housekeeping" :deadbanana: this is where I died  the best moment from the whole episode

Otherwise, 4/5 stars so far from me, it was great, resembled the very first episode, but didn´t top it... I also really liked the scene with Iris and Sally and the two poor girls, really great acting  and then Gaga finishing it :Jase:

Really great, indeed, might watch it again later

Yeah, the script could float to the ceiling, it's so light.

I totally forgot about that scene and that annoyed me as well. I assumed they were both dead. The scene would've worked just as well if it was more realistic on those parts. Same goes for the cop leaving his daughter in the car and her getting out.

I don't understand people who say it was too disturbing and triggering and gory. It's supposed to be.

American HORROR Story.

It's supposed to make you uncomfortable and make you wanna change the channel when someone comes in from how inappropriate it is.

You kids would not handle HBO shows :smh:

uhmmm exactly its American HORROR Story, not American GORE Story.... there is a difference

i love horrors that are so SCARY they make me want to change the channel or pause the video, but i don't like "horrors" that are just packed with random blood scenes and human organs. There was nothing scary in the first episode, nothing that made my heart race cuz i didn't know whats going to come next.

I seen some bad comments on Facebook (ok most of them are trolls lol) about the Matt / Gaga foursome. They complain about s-x scenes in this episode;

I agree it was very explicite, but did they watched other seasons ? I mean it's not like there is no disturbing and explicite s-x scenes in past seasons (for example : Emma Roberts' rape in Coven, the girl being f*cked by all the monsters in FS, Vivian Harmon having s-x with the guy in the suit, or even all the creepy s-x scenes and crude words in Asylum :lmao:)

@Admin, quotes are broken on mobile, i end up quoting people ive already replied to when Im trying to just respond to the thread in general.

On topic @monketsharona i dont think the s-x is the problem, that was ok, it's the psychological mindf*ck that they committed double murder during the s-x. We are supposed live after s-x, dying is not the idea :) I think it unsettled people. Not to mention the gratuitous spurts of blood showering all parties ....

I feel that some of the scenes gave too much away. Good horror writing has good use of restraint. For example, the 2 hanging corpses in the house were unnecessary imo. If they did not show the corpses, and cut the film when the kid was screaming, it would've been more effective. It would have left the audience wanting more. "How did the corpses look like? How did they die?" The physical representation of the zombie was quite a letdown too. In contrast, a good use of restraint in this episode would be the beginning, where the metal glove was about to choke the Swedish girl from behind, but did not. That seemed to heighten the suspense in that scene, and I think that is good horror writing (in the sense that it does not rely on cheap scaring gimmicks/formulas).

I completely forgot that The Countess was Lady Gaga. Goes to show how good her acting was. :legend:
