I'm sorry, but I really don't buy Beyoncé's brand of feminism.

In this "essay" she's basically summarized the points given in the speach by Chimamanda Ngozi that she sampled in ***Flawless

(while searching for "feminist speaches" on youtube nonetheless) and added absolutely nothing new or relevant to the table.

Although I'm glad she's publicly supporting a huge societal issue, it seems like she's doing it in all the wrong ways. I just don't like the fact that she promotes this strong independent feminist persona yet names her tour after her husband and makes a song called bow down b---hes..

I SAID THAT AS NICELY AS I COULD IF I GET A WP FML

theres not much that can be done if the women are simply incompetent.

rude much?

Economy

I think what she means is that women in the same job make less. Which is a general fact. But you have a really good point.

honestly, i dont see that being the case generally. maybe there might be a few bosses that do that but generally speaking i dont think there is much of a gap in pay for the same position.

I dont know how it is in America where Beyonce is from but here in Canada the average women if im not mistaken makes 74% the income the average man does but the differences in the jobs they choose probably account for almost all of it

like here the trades and construction pays well, but hardly any women ever go into that... and there are far more doctors and lawyers who are men

On the other hand when i go shopping the people at the cash register, 80% or more are females

I think thats the issue. The main issue we need to target is getting women to want to make more of themselves. The main issue isnt bosses paying them less for the same job

Yeah but... but has more to do with choices women make than oppurtunities

For instance here in Canada (and in other Countries also im sure) less women go into good paying fields like being a doctor, lawyer, engineer and even the trades... more women choose to work part-time in places like retail or being waitresses instead.

But part is cultural also. Many immigrants are from Countries where they think this way and when they move to Canada they still live this way

So women have oppurtunities, they just need to actually take them!

Here's an article for you.

GreenEyes

My history teacher asked this girl what she wanted to do when she graduates college. She said she wants to be a welder and he kinda went :awkney: for a minute, I could tell in his mind that he is thinking "that's a mans job"

I feel so bad for women. This girl wants to pursue a great career and she gets :awkney: faces.
