Rumor: Katy Perry joining X Factor 2015 & Louis Tomlinson to LEAVE One Direction

Bookmakers bwin have had taken a flurry of bets on Louis Tomlinson to replace Louis Walsh as a permanent judge on the X Factor – after the singer apparently got the blessing of Simon Cowell favourite Sinitta.

The 80s diva highlighted that Louis had already spent a lot time with the show last year and was particularly active in mentoring young talent – seemingly paving the way for a future in the judge’s chair.

Of course, for Louis to take over, another Louis will need to leave – meaning Louis Tomlinson is 4-1 to be a permanent judge in 2015.

Simon Cowell (7/100), Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (1/2), Louis Walsh (73/100) and Mel B (6/5) are still the top four according to the bookies, but there is a chasing group, full of huge names, waiting in the wings if Mr Cowell decides to change things up.

The second group include Take That singer Gary Barlow – even though we’re pretty sure he’s had his fill of the ITV show – former judge Nicole Scherzinger, who was axed in favour of Cheryl and Mel B last year and Tulisa Contostavlos, who was dropped two years ago.

As much as I love One Direction, once a known member leaves, the entire band is bound to slowly crumble. Even if Louis won't be the new judge, the days of 1D are likely numbered anyway for the rest to not explore other options to lengthen their own careers.

And as for KP, I believe this isn't the first time she's been rumoured for such offer. But with a world tour to still conclude (and talks of a new album by this year starting to come up), I doubt she'd take the job given her schedule. But if she does, then this stint will be a good time for her to stay under the public eye while the world awaits for the next LP. Plus, she's done side projects before in between studio albums, so I won't be surprised if this happens. Won't be surprised either if she won't.

The idea of Louis Tomlinson being a judge isn't that unbelieveable, due to his close links with Simon Cowell. However, I don't think Simon would encourage Louis to leave the group because of it. Simon is desperate to keep One Direction together for as long as possible. As much as he seems to have supported Zayn in leaving, it's obvious he's not happy about it - and the clause was that Zayn sign to Syco for solo releases.
