I haven't seen one article starting with: despite the commercial faliure of her latest album ARTPOP...

DAMN NOW THAT NEEDS A ROUND OF APPLAUSE. IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS WITHOUT THESE WORDS IN AN ARTICLE

ARTPOP as an album wasn't terrible....it's just the high sales expectations people wanted like BTW and the terrible single choices that led people to completely destroy the album all together.

I'm happy people are moving on and most have said are now looking forward to Gaga's next album!

There was one article Iread that did mention ARTPOP, but everybody (that includes fans, media and gp) is slowly but surely moving out of the ARTPOP mess (by mess I mean the era, not the album itself)

ARTPOP so reminds me of Madonna's "Erotica" when they said she was over and flopped. It was considered a "concept album". I remember Madonna saying something like (can't remember the exact number at the time), "How is selling 500,000 records a flop?"

Commercially, the album was less successful than Madonna's previous records. It peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, becoming her first studio album not to top the chart since her debut. ARTPOP is actually a #1 album. Both Erotica and ARTPOP had sales that many other artists just dream of. That's what happens when you set the bar so high with enormous early success.

This.  ARTPOP actually outsold more than half the albums released that year.  Think of all those artists wishing their albums could do as well as ARTPOP.  That puts things in perspective.

I agree with the OP.  Most reviews are 100% positive, and that's a huge change.

I live outside the space time continuum.
