Applause was blocked by Roar.It would definitely hit #1 if Roar wasn't released at the same day

Then why wasn't Applause #2? Roar wasnt 1-3. :lollipop:

But it peaked at #4 not #2, even without Roar it would have been blocked be Blurred Lines, Royals, Wrecking Ball..

You don't even know what you are talking about tho.. If Applause was a standalone single it would get MUCH more attention so it would get way better sales anyway. It's not just that Roar sold more .Educate yourselfs  :toofloppy:

Roar sold 557,000 first week (more than twice what Applause sold) and it still premiered at #2, Blurred Lines was too massive. It climbed to #1 later due to massive airplay and streaming. Gaga doesn't have that kind of radio or streaming power, even if Roar hadn't been released at the time she was never going to come close to Blurred Lines, Royals, or Wrecking Ball which were all monster hits. Educate yourself indeed  :rip:

Huh? If Roar wasn't released this week .Applause would have sold over 350.000 and it would do even better the next week with the performance.. If not #1 at least #2. Wreckingball became a hit in September,Royals became a hit in September-Octomber too (in US). So I don't even know what you are talking about  :laughga:  Only Blurred Lines could block Applause from going #1 but maybe not even this .So again Educate yourself  :kissga:

Are you a psychic :omg: You even got her numbers if Roar hadn't been released? :udidnt:

It wouldn't have gone #1 either way. Roar didn't have an immense impact on Applause that's delusional :rip: The fact the not 1 but 3 songs were ahead of her says something.

Also, sure, if Roar wasn't there, she would've been higher. But there will always be competition either way so it's not fair to say "if" that song hadn't been there.

Exactly

What about two other songs that were above it

it's not like people didn't buy applause just because Roar was released :awkney: Applause wouldn't sell anything more

Royals and Wrecking Ball smashed in August, that's why Applause never got to the top 3 cause there were four huge song consistently ahead of her, plus other bigger hits like Hold On We're Going Home and Holy Grail. My point was that if Roar couldn't hit #1 with a sales week of 557k, Applause was never going to come close, because Katy has more radio and streaming power than Gaga to begin with.

Anyway, she can get another #1 for sure, but she needs to come with something really amazing and fresh, and not release in the middle of the summer when all the biggest songs of the year are at their peaks.

If she continues with her off putting 'Look me I'm an artisté' attitude she will never have a #1 song again. If she writes a good pop song with relatable lyrics then who knows, maybe?
