Henry 2,374
Sales figures of The Sims 4 are in, and Maxis may have a problem on their hands. While series predecessor The Sims 3 sold 1.4 million physical copies in it’s first week, The Sims 4 has failed to match those sales figures nearly four months after it’s release. The bad press for Electronic Arts goes back to 2013. Fans of the long running SimCity franchise were excited for the debut of the 2013 reboot, only to encounter a rash of technical problems. More devastating from a public relations standpoint was the decision to require users to have a constant internet connection in order to play the game. Now Maxis has announced what it calls a game pack. In promotional material, developers of The Sims 4 have likened the next game pack, The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat, to a supercharged version of stuff packs from previous eras in The Sims franchise. If that’s the case, The Sims 4 may feature two 2015 releases: the game pack due in January and a larger expansion pack later in the year. Will the new game pack be enough to make up for the missing features? Are you waiting for more content before you purchase The Sims 4? Chic 20,830
I just can't get into a game you have to spend $300 on each time just to get the full experience :air:
zexion_armando 241
The Sim name in general has been sullied after 4 and the Sim City debacle. At this point, I'm surprised EA just haven't given up on the franchise, but they are the worst company in gaming.
Azor Ahai 18,861
The sims is a game you play when you feel like it (once every 3 months) for 3 days then you realise you quit playing it because its so fuccking boring and repetitive. Its the same for all sims games and since now everyone can pirate sims 4 in comparison with 2008 when pirating was just becoming mainstream, sales are gonna drop. Also if someone already owns Sims 3 and gave 1023904$ for packs why would they give it all up and start from scratch just for new "moods" .

After buying every single expansion pack and stuff pack for The Sims 3 I became a really good fan and I was really pumped and now it's just meh....haven't even played The Sims 4 for more than 2 hours

That's me right now....I own every single expansion pack and stuff pack for The Sims 3 (Even the Katy Perry ones) I would rather play The Sims 3 any day over The Sims 4.... I'm look forward to see what expansions they bring for The Sims 4 though

kevinthesheep 2,947
i think a lot of people are turned off because there isn't a huge difference between 3 & 4 (arguably). sims 3 was SO different to sims 2, same with 2 and 1… sims 4 just seems like an updated version of 3 to most people. Benji 20,113
Ever since The Sims 2, the games have just got really lacklustre. I bought and played 3 for a few hours but it was just painful to play in comparison to what I was used to. It ran badly (even though I was playing it on a fairly new laptop) and the camera was just awful to use. Considering the game's content is what you, yourself wishes to put into it... they should at least have made applying yourself to the game easier. Hellspont 1,468
I still like sims 4 though sims 3 was just such a huge jump i was obsessed, put easily 300+ hours into it and expansions sims 4 I think i have 23 hours right now maybe a good expansion will get me hooked back into it.
