Actually when I read this I was speechless. How one could discredit their fans so much is beyond me

mte.  This is a total PR disaster.  If I were her management team, I would be pulling out my hair thinking about how to spin this in a  positive light.

If blacklistedd thinks it's a character flaw, that's his prerogative. I think it's great that she always does that. It comes from a good place, and makes me feel like an important part of her career.

Yea, pretty much that.

How is this a "disaster" for her relationship with her fans? She talked about how much she appreciates her fans and what they've done for her in the interview itself. At no point does she discredit or insult them. She's just talking about how she doesn't have a super close or obsessive relationship with her fan base, and that's totally fine. That's the relationship most artists have with their fans.

In terms of PR, you have to over exaggerate how much you love something and you have to be 100% positive at all times--that's why you see celebs smiling all the time.  I think I heard a celeb say that she puts vaseline on her teeth b/c they get dried out from smiling openly for hours on end.  There can be NO negativity towards fans b/c fans are very sensitive to any such criticism, and they can always go on to the next celeb since fame and fans are fickle.  So by saying that you're not as obsessed about your fans as your peers, your fans can and will jump ship.  It's just the name of the game, and it's dumb, but that how it's played.  Notice how Gaga's tweet says how her fans are her life--that's the way to do business.  You have to hustle.

Katy's not smart in seeing that.

Gaga never "pretended" that ARTPOP was going to change the world. Fans put unattainable expectations that she was going to. It isn't her fault that she didn't meet these expectations. She never ONCE said it was going to be a game changer, so please stop putting words into her mouth. As for BTW, that album really was a game changer. Dr. Luke sent in people to her TMB tour and created songs like We R Who We R inspired by BTW (the song) after they saw what direction she was going. Empowerment songs became very popular during late 2010 and 2011, and it isn't a coincidence. Angelina Jolie was inspired by her looks and applied them for her new role in Maleficent. And she helped gay fans all around to world to feel better about themselves. Plus it's the second best selling album this decade only behind Adele's 21. And its tour was one of the best selling of ALL TIME. If that isn't impact, then I don't know what is :)

I love(d) katy but she seriously needs to stoP stop.png

I mean to imply that you don't really love your fans is low, and to diss others for loving their fans is even lower.

I feel like each day it's getting harder and harder to like ha  :eww:

She's a bit too full of herself

I don't even know what side to be on for this.  :nooo:

I'm just going to wait and see for what she does when she flops, I mean, you can't stay on top forever.

She really reminds me of Madonna sometimes minus the talent, gratitude, and staying power.

Im blonde, I'm skinny, I'm rich, and I'm a little bit of a bitch.

I'm a gaga fan, I just don't follow her religiously or stay up her ass and support her every (stupid) move like a lot of people here.

Talk about generalization. Damn. And your posts contradict what you state. 8be5ead6.gif

First of all, every popstar with a teen fanbase feels a lot of their popstar's music touches their lives and helps them even if some of you find everybody's music basic but Gaga's. They don't. You can go on YouTube and see the comments by so many and Katy's fans are the same, Taylor Swift, etc. You can go on music sites for certain '80s groups or '90s groups who weren't tight with their fanbase but their young fanbase clung to their music because it helped them during their difficult years or years they feel different or alienated or even brokenhearted and you see them as grown adults talking about that period for them and what the band or singer or what their music meant to them.

Gaga has a more hands-on approach to her fans, but at times she does make some statements that don't ring true to me and are just playing to the audience and are eye-roll inducing. Many other statements to her fans or at concerts are very heartfelt. Gaga's connection to her audience is real and more needy on both sides than most other fan/singer relationships. I dont' see anything wrong with that. Sometimes I wish she would cut the crap during a song with her going on and on and just sing the ballad, but other times she brings tears to your eyes. She means something to her fanbase, so there was no reason to make a snarky comment by Katy. Of course, Gaga has insulted Katy and her tour over petty stuff. So I guess it keeps going back tit for tat. Oh, how I love Pop Diva snark and wars. LOL

Duh. The first time I read it I knew it was about Gaga. It only proves that Katy doesn't understand that her fans are paying for her lifestyle and for her to live her dreams.

They're the reason she isn't a waitress in LA.
