Do you really think many of us are getting in a fit just because we don't agree with her fashion choices? I mean, you do realize that actual living, breathing, sentient beings were murdered so she could wear that fur, right? I realize I can't speak for everyone, but that is why it angers me when she wears not only fur, but uses anything I know came from the murder of an innocent being. And no, I don't mean this as a stupid April Fools post.

 

I still love her to death though, even though it's often hard to look past this.

I guess you didn't read my whole post, because I implied I didn't like that aspect of her either. (And before people respond saying that is a hypocritical comment, I am a vegan, so no, it is not.) But that's the thing - these are all just aspects of her, and not the entirety of her herself. So while I don't like these certain aspects of Gaga, I love her herself.

I couldn't care less if she wears fur. She looks gorgeous in it, and I mean, she's an intelligent women. The places she gets the fur are probably very safe and not ones that abuse animals. People have been using fur since the beginning of time. Circle of life. We'll be fine folks.

I disagree with her wearing fur, but I feel like a lot of people are lead to believe (by organizations such as PETA) that all professional fur farms are cruel and skin animals alive. This isn't actually true for the most part and it doesn't make any sense business-wise. In order to produce a quality coat, the animal has to have a balanced diet and be kept well, under good conditions and most of all be healthy. And they are generally euthanized before being skinned, as a living animal would bleed, which would actually ruin the pelt and basically render it worthless.

I'm not super educated on the topic and I'm not pro-fur so don't get the wrong idea. But I'm just letting people know that a lot of the time, that awful stuff doesn't actually happen.

True, definitely, but now we are beyond base necessity of it. Also, and I'm pretty sure this is a more modern phenomena, the ethics of doing so is actually kind of wonky.

 

But I do hope wherever she gets the fur from is ethical.

Totally the most wonky part of the argument. I'm probably a the worst human being for loathing animal cruelty and enjoying meat benefit of the doubt, but still a bad assumption lol.

 

I do feel like the idea of breeding/caging for food is a bit terrible. Not farms and general enclosements, but any space where freedom to roam is absolutely limited. I'd give the animals at least a good place to go around before I eat them, idk

I love gaga but I won't justify everything she does. I think it's gross she wears fur, and I don't like it. My personal opinion. Obviously it's her decision, but I wish she had the mindset of when she said she would never wear it.
