Whispering

I don't expect anyone to be happy with these boxscores. I just want realistic and calm thoughts.

Why wouldn't people be happy with these boxscores? They still put her in an elite class of performers. There are very few current artists who can come anywhere close to these numbers. Many of the thoughts being expressed are not realistic.

Curiously I was expecting more for Norway and Denmark, and less for Belgium and the Netherlands. I don't know why she is going to perform in the Zénith, such an small venue  :fail: also she's a big act in Italy, and she just perform in the Mediolanum Forum, even in the Born This Way Ball she performed there

This fan base has unrealistic expectations. Their definition of "successful" is skewed and completely unrealistic. That's why they always end up whining and feeling miserable about everything.

In 2011, exactly 5 artists hit the 90 million or more mark. In 2012, 7 artists accomplished this number. Last year, there were 10 acts to hit the 90 million mark. (and one was the MJ Immortal tour and four were legacy acts) Year in and year out, there are only around 5 non-legacy acts that get close to what Gaga is going to gross with this current tour.

If around 90 million is "unsuccessful", then 99% of the current artists out there are unsuccessful in the music industry today.

:applause: i can't with the DRAMAQUEENS here.

I agree.

The boxscores are ok, but not great to me.

Because for Gaga it's a big decline. Of course there is no need to meltdown and be drama queens but there is no reason to pretend something else than the true. It would be impossible for Gaga's career to be a constant growth and it would be unhealthy if people were happy with failure.

Well it's not bad,  there are few dates compared to other tours.  Evidently the middle east will not be another stop for the next tour.

Hope other parts of the world like Latin America would have a chance in the future ;)

It's unhealthy to look at this tour as a failure. It's unrealistic to expect any artist (who isn't a legacy act) to be in the top 5 tours every year. You can't compare 7 months with 18 months or 200 shows with 78 shows.

If 2.5 million albums sold, 2 #1 albums and a worldwide tour that will gross around 90 million in one year is a "failure", the problem here is  fan expectations!

There has to be something wrong with Tel Aviv, Athens and Istanbul box scores

i think so about Istanbul. 19k seems a little bit off form what i saw that day.

Cruelty

We've got to applaud LiveNation at this:

HaYarkon Park - Tel Aviv, Israel - 18,984 / 18,984 - 1/1

Gaga has managed to sell out a 50k venue with 19,000 tickets sold. That's pretty incredible.

That phrase should automatically go into the signature of every GGD user. That's brilliant.

It's not bad to have high expectztons for someone you believe to as long as you don't create drama. Before the ARTPOP Era our expectations were much higher when it comes to performance, commercial success and the Tour. It's just a fact, we now move on.

I personally still hav high expectations from the next Era because I know what Gaga is capable of and what she deserves. I won't crate 10 meltdown threads and I won't burn my stan card if t doesn't happen but I have every right to be dissapointed with it, the same way that I will be very happy when she meets or tops the expectations (like she did now with C2C).

Idk, the only possible explanation to me for the Greek and Dubai date is that tickets were selling so poorly that they gave away thousands of them for free so we saw big crowds and in fact those are the numbers that people actually payed for the show...

A shame really..
