ThisGuyTony 31,694
“Sabrina Carpenter Becomes Latest Artist to Push Back Against Trump Admin Co-Opting Music Some artists, however, have largely kept publicly silent about the use of their songs. Notably, Taylor Swift, TIME’s 2023 Person of the Year who has at other times been hawkish about unsanctioned use of her music and has called out Trump before for falsely implying her endorsement, has not issued any statement after she had her songs from her latest album The Life of a Showgirl used in White House materials.” https://time.com/7338216/trump-white-house-social-media-music-artists-copyright-sabrina-carpenter/

Lucas 28,055
She won't risk losing streams or money. + the Trump admin is giving her tax cuts, remember she only speaks about issues when it directly affects her negatively. 1 1

PartySick 163,572
I mean. This isn't me defending the billionaire plague but we can't really throw stones here 'cause all Gaga fans live in a glass house these days in regards of "speaking up" about things Blackout19 - "Free Woman sucks!" 1

She always uses her shows to promote LGBTQ+ rights, kindness, and acceptance. Not to mention Angel Down in the US at The Chromatica Ball, her performances for the Biden campaign/admin, etc. It says something to me that the Trump admin knows better than to use her artistry for their messaging but teeters on the line with some of these other girls…. Taylor was infamously politically ambiguous for years really until Lover era, then went on the biggest tour of all time in some of the most conservative places in the country and couldn’t make ONE (1) statement about LGBTQ+, reproductive rights, etc. I know you call yourself a fan rather than a Stan these days but cmon Edited 27 minutes ago by TEANUS British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
TEANUS 15,807
Anyways, to be expected of Taylor - it’s all about numbers for her, if she got paid the performance royalty she probably could care less British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS

She's been noticeably silent on issues that I would have expected her to be outspoken on, but GGD isn't ready for that conversation

I hold her to a higher standard 'cause she actually earned my respect, unlike certain blonde billionaires. To quote the spirit of Janet Jackson's song, "I know he used to do nice stuff for you but what has he done for you lately?" Off topic though I guess But like, idc what Taylor does 'cause idc about Taylor I've assumed for a while that she's dl MAGA anyway and even if she's not, she's a billionaire which automatically makes her evil. She could wear one of those dumb red hats and hold a "I hate Somalians" sign and I wouldn't think any less of her...'cause I don't think about her Blackout19 - "Free Woman sucks!"
