JoeCool 780
Anyone watch or watching? I've never been a big Steve Carell fan but he does give off nice guy vibes for the most part. Enough for me to pull the trigger on this series. It's all right but pretty boring Edited Sunday at 10:56 PM by JoeCool

onionring 750
I liked it. I enjoyed the academia setting and it was my kind of comfort TV, also this and hacks introduced me to Robby Hoffman and I can't get enough -instant fan. But yea if Steve Carell isn't a big draw for you I don't see a reason for you continue watching. Overall solid show 6/10

Overall solid show 6/10 While you said you liked it a 6/10 rating says though you found it was just kinda all right. I like Carell's nice guy persona but this is kinda on the boring side so far

It has lotta of heartfelt moments with quirky presentation, cast is good, characters and writing are good enough. All around just a solid show, not really slop but nothing to write about either, also maybe I enjoyed was because I already miss winter If you're looking for comedies I'd recommend hacks and the comeback, both are in their final season and both are excellent. If you're want something with little more bite, I'd reluctantly recommend halfman, a British 6 episode mini series from the guy that wrote and stared in the show reindeer. It's a stellar show, really really well crafted, but it's not an easy watch at all also tw for SA and violence if you intend on watching.

I looked up The comeback.... wow that is wild there were gaps of like 9 years in between each season!

Yup. Only got around to it recently, been on my watchlist since the second season dropped, as I tend to be icky with older comedies but it surprisingly holds up. It's a mockumentary style show about a self servicing but endearing fading actress with a reality show. It originally didn't get picked up after the first season which was ultimately for the best as it allowed it to sort of be a commentary on each period it's respective season was released and in a meta way how we look and examine characters like Valarie the main character over the years. You also definitely get the feeling that the "plots" are pulled from real experiences, fascinating stuff. Again if mockumentary shows aren't for you I don't think you'll find it funny, but I do think you'll find it at least pleasant.
