OBEY 57,109 Posted January 18, 2014 Share Posted January 18, 2014 I'm glad that fans finally can appreciate the success Born This Way was, even though this means the new album is a flop tbh i never considered BTW as a flop, even if Judas and MTN "underperformed" as singles. here in Canada (and in some countries im sure) everyone knows Judas and MTN, as much as BTW (the song). they maybe weren't smash hits, but they kind of had an impact for sure. Well we can call other artists' singles/albums/tours flops but we cannot call Gaga's new album a flop when it's selling 10k/week... It is bad when you are overconfident, like some Gaga fans are or her is with money go, talent remains. The power to reinvent is also overated. It doesnt work for everybody. Katy Perry is having the same experience, right now. BTW was massively promoted and organized properly ,HELLO ARTPOP era. The GP and previous fans felt like the music wasn't as great as she proclaimed it would be.Plus, her image turned away fans and the GP, and she hasn't been able to gain them back. I never cared if something on BTW underperformed because I thought everything was spectacular. Now, I'm not a big fan of ARTPOP, but many here are and I think people should take this as a lesson since everyone was so quick to dismiss BTW. Madonna confirmed at Grammys. YES!
