I wonder if the US will latch onto dwuw after the video. The song isn't doing that bad internationally. The video should give it a good boost along with the remix.

As soon as it becomes a hit in The Netherlands, it'll be a hit in Belgium anyways. It's like the US and Canada or Australia and New Zealand.

*Okay so its doing I guess decent worldwide, usually the music video is what gets the song more active on the charts in the European market so can't wait.

The video probably has more effect in the US than Europe (probably neither this time though; unless Christina in it - in the US most people have heard the song already from promotion or airplay and in Europe many people have already heard it because it's a 2 month-old single which is played on TV a lot). I think that it'll rebound in the rest of the world though - videos are the most important in Latin America, and perhaps Australia and East-Asia will also profit :D

Why are videos the most important in Latin America? Let me show this to you :manicure:

Brazil 2 days after the Applause video release - look at the jumps :legend:

3 Lady Gaga - Applause 0.8175 0.8154 0.8192 0.8319 0.8826 0.8610 0.8799 0.8462 0.8068 0.8000 0.8176 0.8112 0.7819 0.7683 0.7379 0.7415 0.6617 0.6659 0.6584 0.6359 0.6027

Why are we comparing with TM while DH is our competition!

Why are we comparing with TM while DH is our competition!

DH isn't our competition at all, it's obvious that DH will have a much much different chartrun from the usual Gaga single - it'll sell much more in Anglophone markets but sell about the same as Applause WW I think,

But what promo can she do? Perhaps some talkshows, interviews, radio interviews, performances on national TV? Imagine if Canada becomes like Australa for Pink :omg:

SNL, AMAs, and The Vloice were all perfect because they are just as popular on Canadian TV as US.

(Which isn't true of every US show).

Yeah, but I'm talking about local spots. I think that it's a smart idea to invest a little bit more in Canada, making it a market like how Japan is towards Gaga.

I imagine that building a bigger fanbase there and getting more GP interest is much easier and more effective by doing things in Canada than appearing on shows in the US.

That's right. Also, she must promote in the French talking area of Canada where she is not that popular

The Monster is also falling in Canada, even if the Xtina remix wasn't going to be released, DWUW would probably be in the Top 3.  Does anyone else feel that The Monster is not living up to the same level of fame that Love The Way You Lie had? I think it's because the video is not as good.. It's still a HUGE song though.

I find the song sooooo cut and paste. I don't want to pass it off as nothing, but I feel as if it's a tacky move to just stick another Rih collab out at the album's release.

The hook is fantastic though, I use it in remixes - the original is hoooorrible though.

I think that having a big hit in the rest of Canada will automatically make it a hit in Quebec. I don't know though, perhaps just a radio interview with NRJ Montréal?
